Amazing what a new coat of paint will do to the appeal and value of a classic MV. Great job so far! Now time for the finishing touches and accessories....
Once again, had a great time - almost didn't make it, broke down on the way up with a coolant loss issue, trip back was uneventful. 345 mile round trip.
The trucks had a few minor issues on the trails, one CUCV with a fuel filter issue, 215dave's truck lost all brake air pressure on a gnarly...
I just noticed a trend - seems to happen at every RC rally. 40 people say they are going to go, and 20 show up. We're glad we have the 20, and they are the regulars that we are glad to see! But just a trend I noticed, lotsa I-can't-make-its at the last minute.
Hope you can't-make-its can...
I'll say it again,

You're looking at a truck. Congratulations, you win a cookie.
I think you are referring to the angled piece of metal in picture 4? I think that's the spare tire carrier.
True - time will tell if 3D printing solves all the problems we have getting parts. 100 years from now when all the original Willys MBs are either gone or only billionaires can afford them, maybe if we want to bop around town in one we can just print one off. Amazing times we live in.
Oh, okay. I was just going to "borrow" them from PENNDOT on the trip up. I figured there's always a thousand work areas along I-81, who's going to miss half a dozen cones? :)
Not specifically - there are yards that have some leftover WWII armor in them, and dealers with some WWII armor parts, but armored vehicles are few and far between anymore in salvage yards. There are lots more parts available for them than there are vehicles to put them on. And like you said...
