The biggest issue I noticed with the stock seat was lack of lumbar support, on long drives. Using a small camping pillow behind my lower back pretty much alleviated the problem.

I've since upgraded to the Cobra seat, which has the same problem...
Finally made new shockcords for the cargo cover. The old ones lasted about 4-5 years, but were slowly failing. The collars are pretty hard to press onto the shockcord hooks, so I had to design a special tool.
The filters are in the wheel valves (bolted near the lugs), and are upstream of the inlet stem to the tire.
If you haven't seen/driven the truck yet, your assumption that wheel balance is a limiting factor may be incorrect. Most people do not have any kind of balancing done to their tires...
One thing that I've thought about is the computerization of modern engines. You hear a lot of people say that the older mechanical engines are more reliable (e.g. M35 Duece vs M1078 LMTV), but the statistics clearly show that the newer engines get significantly more reliable as they become more...
Yesterday we did a bunch of testing, on several products. (The pictures, and they way I'm presenting it here, is a bit out of order from the way we went through them, so don't compare to stuff far away in the pictures.) All products applied with a hand-pump bleach applicator sprayer (e.g...
I picked up a bottle of this while I happened to be at AutoZone. It's bleach (sodium hypochlorate) and drano (sodium hydroxide) mixed!
I haven't tried it yet.
My soft cover top has some mildew/algae growing on it. I tried pressure washing it with Purple Power, and it just grew right back quickly.
I see a variety of products out there for cleaning boat covers and stuff. Some have bleach in them, and some are comparatively expensive in the quantity...
Thanks for doing the test. And yes, that is my position that you should not see a huge difference between the two.
I went through the second video, and took the average of the "Estimated Fuel Rate gal/h" reading at the beginning of the each second (as best I could do, pausing/playing)...
It's hard to argue that the automatic's inefficiency is insignificant, while also arguing that the hub heat is very significant. The automatic transmission generates way more heat than the hubs (or a manual transmission), so much that it has its own cooling system. Do AMTs have cooling...
You're confusing me with someone else. I haven't said anything about you selling anything. But you're doing an awful lot of chest thumping, to help prove your points, I guess.
The study even says it in passing, because, like me, I assumed everyone was on the same page about transmissions...
They are good studies.
The couple lines before that are equally important to our discussion here: " These fuel economy gains can be attributed to the greater efficiency of manual transmissions and the increased number of gears available in these transmissions to keep the engine operating in...
What do you estimate then?
I think you're agreeing less than 30HP, which would be 10% on your engine. So where does the other 20%+ fuel economy gain come from? Driveshaft yoke bearings on the axle, spinning 1/2 as fast?
If you start working through these, you see why 30%+ MPG gains are so...
