My xm211 got put to work

The temperature that day was over 90 degrees fahrenheit. The engine heat from the radiator and exhuast made the cab of the truck very hot. But with the windows tippped up I cooled off a little when I drove. Sorry guys, no pics. I'm old school....no cell phone on my hip. It's not a pretty...

My xm211 got put to work

My xm211 has a small block chevy, 4 speed manual, vaccum booster, and hoist from a 70s GM "2 ton" grain truck. The truck has been a back-back burner project that's only been driven around the fields once every several months. That changed this summer. I rebuilt most wheel cylinders to get...

    xm211 transfer case question

Back to this question of transfer case "shifting" for forward or reverse. I've been messing with the rear brakes and have all 4 rear axles out. The truck will drive forward but will no back up. I suppose now is the time to figure out that linkage... ....and, as a solution to my question...

    M211/M135 with 350 V8 and 4 speed manual transmission

My 211 is powered by a small block chevy and 4 speed. Also has been converted to dump bed. I gave considerably less than he is asking. The brake were inop too. I'm finding brakes to be a major undertaking.

    xm211 transfer case question

Wow, it's almost 3 months since I started this topic. A couple months ago I found that what appeared to be the correct shift shaft had some linkage to a lever in the cab. I studied it and experimented with shifting it while turning sharp and moving forward and backward. The driveline still...

    xm211 transfer case question

I see my truck appears to have a handle connected to the linkage, when I get some more fuel I'll try it out. Found a relative post: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?76885-Some-tips-for-the-GMC-transfer-case&highlight=sprag Folks, as for photos, my stuff is all camera shy. ;) The...

    xm211 transfer case question

I also saw this post with relevant info: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?76885-Some-tips-for-the-GMC-transfer-case&highlight=sprag Maybe in the next few days I'll get to experiment with the shift shaft. Section 8: Photos? I'm pretty shy about photos (plus the truck is not very...

    xm211 transfer case question

Thank you Section 8, but don't go to any more trouble for me just yet. I've stumbled into data that appears to be what I need to know. In the Tech Man download 2 of 6, on pages 84, 88, & 94. Page 88 seems to say to move the shift shaft in the opposite direction that you mentioned. ...

    xm211 transfer case question

I'm working on a modified xm211. It's had a chevy engine/4 speed manual trans installed. The truck drivetrain seems to "bind up" when in reverse and turning (much the same feel as a "full time 4wd" truck). I think I've read something about a sprag(s) in the transfer case that were "shifted"...
