Just shut the power switch off until you build air pressure. The buzzer shuts off when you turn it off but the truck continues to run. Just make sure you turn it back on before you start to drive.
The filters used in spin on oil filter kits have an anti drain back valve in them to prevent the oil from draining back into the pan like the stock filters.

You more than likely have a sprag tcase. They are inferior in my opinion. I would swap it out for an air shift case then YOU choose when to engage the front not the tcase itself. For now check the TMs you may be able to adjust it.
