I lazer checked the drums/hubs for heat on the drive home back in May (300+ miles) and didn't find anything hot... Not saying it couldn't have been stuck alittle, Who knows what freezes up on these vehicles once they sit up for awhile. But the truck ran too good and shifted up and down well...

Actionpaintball brings up a good point....i remember reading a while back about the 6.5 running hotter due to the thinner cylinder walls, basicly a bored out 6.2 block. If your engine was refurbed that might be something to inquire about. As others have stated 180-210 is the op-range mine runs...

My most recent purchase of a M923A2 has no primary fuel filter. It has a little inline filter before the primer button and the final filter on the engine block. It's a Air Force truck from Tinker AFB. Just wondering if this was a common mod for the air dales ? SEMPER FI !! Keith

Thank ya there Rifleman....i did get that level dropped down by draining alittle out....but the problem is still present. Part that doesn't make any sense to me is the TM says transmission will over heat if over filled....and this one ran normal (170-190) all the way home. Next conversation...

My A2 does the same thing...on the trip back from RedStone any time i kept it above 55 for a few minutes it would flash . With the bigger tires i would say that was a warning to heed. SEMPER FI!! keith

Quick update on my transmission issue......it seems to be getting better. At this point all i have done to it , until my pan filter kit shows up, is to drive it around the back roads with alot of starting and stopping to really work the gears thru their range. It's not as quick off the line as...
