I didn't have to use the little nut that came with the OE arms, The new ones are splined to go on the shafts. They fit good with a bit of gentle persuasion. Had them on for 3+ years and they haven't fallen off.
I use Lucas oil treatment in my engine. I think it makes the oil a lot slipperier. I know it's not a technical term. Haven't had any problems running it.
Try to find a tire shop that does agriculteral tires (tractor tires). They're usually set up for the split rim/lock ring set up.
At least the shops by me are. They deal with all the local farmers equipment.

The jack stands are rated per stand. Just make sure you are using those stands on flat level hard ground. If they are tilted even a few degrees they lose some of their capacity and stability.
