I am sorry for the picture quality but can you confirm for me which ones are the parts you replaced with the part numbers you found?
I believe the bearing is "B" and "G" in the drawing and the seal is "HH". Please correct me if I am wrong.
Sorry about the confusion. I have the parts list link as a read only, so that there is only one person adding numbers.
I will get the numbers you found added. Thank you for posting them up!! [thumbzup]
Any ideas or suggestions for the list are always welcome.
I believe those tubes are supposed to have the same size holes. They are called "Main Well Tubes" according to the rebuild manual.
The rebuild manual is TM 9-8647. Tomorrow night I will look to see if it calls out the sizes of the tubes and will also see what it takes to scan\post the Holley...
That is what I was afraid of but thanks to you I know where to make the adjustment now.
Anyone know where to find a set of these linkage adjusting tools?
The only time I have seen a carburetor stick like that was because the accelerator pump was way too tight. I did not have the carb on the truck, but noticed it when working it by hand. I put a new accelerator pump in that is listed in the parts list and it fixed my problem.
Never have seen a...
Thank you topo! That is what I was looking for. The truck is still on jack stands and I see the part you are talking about.
Will adjusting that linkage change anything else? My transmission is shifting fine and I don't want to mess any of that linkage adjustment up by changing something further...
Did you get this figured out yet Erik? I have not had a chance to help search for a replacement.
Would be a neat part to add to our part list. I believe I have found lug nuts both RH and LH thread that are like what are on these trucks and will get them added as soon as I confirm they are right.
I have investigated the above mentioned play and I don't think things are as bad as I thought. The bolts holding the driveline to the middle axle were barely more than finger tight.
The driveline was removed and a closer look showed me that the nut that holds the yoke on the transfer case is...
The carrier itself is bolted on. Just not the piece the carrier bolts to to keep if from swinging out while driving.
Did they by chance leave this piece on your truck when they mounted the fuel tank?
Does your truck have this piece that the spare tire carrier bolts to?
I am betting it was cut off when your fuel tank was mounted in its place. That part is riveted on and I do not have power where my parts trucks are to grind them off. Unless I can find someone with a generator that can...
It does for sure have some play up and down. Side to side maybe not so much, but I will try to remove the drive line this week and see if there is any side to side. I'll see if I can get some video footage of what I am talking about and post it up.
There is some noise like in the video, but...
Updated above post with videos to better explain my problem.
Also found this on the front wheels not engaging while in reverse, but the details on what was adjusted are not there or maybe I am not understanding what is to be adjusted...
The brakes are bled, adjusted, tested and all six wheels are stopping and releasing like they are supposed to. The truck is on jack stands still and I will be watching to see if the wheel cylinders develop any leaks like before.
The cab top is off the truck as is the bed and while watching to...
