TECH TIP: POLARIZING GENERATOR
Whenever the generator or voltage regulator
is disconnected the generator must be polarized.
Failure to do this will result in a NO-CHARGE
condition and possible DAMAGE to the generator.
Disconnect the wiring harness cable at the
generator. Use a...
I put a little air into the differential where the vent line bolts in. The rear differential held the little bit of air and it came back out when I moved the air nozzle away. The middle one just leaked air out around where the drive shaft bolts on I think. I hope it is only the pinion seal that...
Good info. My gas cap is in the non-fording position so I guess it isn't working. Looks like I need to get a new one. Unless someone knows how to repair them? Please let me know how to do so if anyone does.
I also forgot to mention that while blowing air through the lines and connections to...
Fuel tank vent line question
Yesterday I was checking to make sure all the vent lines on my truck were clear and functioning. I've noticed that the gas tank can build up a lot of pressure.
I loosened the line and found this check valve. It was not moving freely so the gas tank was not venting...
Very well said. I wish more people would understand this and get a little more reasonable on their asking prices. I am confident that I will never recoup the money I have in mine, but the enjoyment the truck gives me is worth it within reason.
Just don't tell my wife we'll never get all our...
I have not found out anything about these plugs. Sorry.
Does anyone know who sells the Century ignition parts? I can't seem to find anything about them. That distributor cap would be good to add to the parts list if we could find who sells them. I know Century makes the caps too. When I look up...
I haven't seen that thread since 2013 and forgot about it, but I think we should start adding to it. It is a really good one.
I might add that I don't mind the information being on my thread at all. I just thought it would be easier for everyone to find in a central location. Good transmission...
That carburetor rebuild manual is very handy. I have one and couldn't have done my rebuild right without it. You guys really did well on finding all that stuff.
We need a transmission rebuild thread so these great pictures and information isn't lost. What should we call the new thread? I'm really interested in seeing what solves the problem on that transmission. I'll be facing this obstacle in the near future.
I hear you on the time and money thing. Both can sure get scarce at times.
Route 66 is 20 or 30 minutes south of me at most. If you guys go through the Tulsa area, let me know and maybe we can meet up for a meal or you can come over, look at the trucks and we'll cook out or go grab...
I for sure need a set of rear view mirrors with the arms. Possibly some other things, but I will have a better idea tomorrow.
I'm currently trying to purchase a truck that has rock guards on the bumper, a near new Memphis rebuilt transmission with an REB shift kit and a hardtop. If I don't get...
Are those NOS mudflaps or did you cut new ones? My trucks need them too. If you made new ones, how did you do it?
Interested to see how Goose shifts when you get more time to test. That pin seemed waaay down there.
Neat. Could you post up some pictures of it and how the engine and transmission is mounted? Linkages, etc?
The brakes are a big job. I recently redid the brakes on one of my M135's.
