G749 Trucks hard to come by

They should have asked scrap price for them since that is what they ended up getting anyway. Or even advertised them better. So frustrating!!! Just thinking out loud. Such a waste.

    G749 Parts List

I looked for that outer seal a while back. Still not having any luck finding new manufacture ones. Just cross referenced the nut and lock washer. PM sent with a question and links to what I found.

We'll put some pressure on him when the time comes then. That is a good looking M211 jeffhuey1n. Are those brand new engines? A military hardtop would sure look sharp on it.

Maybe we should all call him every day for the next couple of weeks and ask for a parts list of what we need to rebuild these.

I have done that and it is why my current muffler is hollow. I had to have the end welded back on. Where is the hole supposed to be to vent the gas?

You might visit with m1010plowboy. I think he was working on having some new mufflers made. Not sure where he is at on that right now.

I don't like to part anything out either, but the longer I am around these trucks, I have come to realize that some of the rougher trucks would be best used to keep the nicer ones on the road. The one in your pictures in my opinion would be best used as a parts donor. Mainly because the frame...

    1952 Canadian 2 1/2 t with a pile of NOS Parts - Part I

Glad to see one of us was able to get this stuff. That seemed like a great deal to me.

That truck has some good parts on it if you could get it really cheap. Bumper looks good, fuel tank if it isn't rusted out, gauges, axles, airpak, glass, fenders, doors, etc. Hardtops seem to be hard to find here in the states. That bed might be from an M928 or M814.

    1952 M135 W/Winch

That is the TCV right? I just found where it is located. That will be one of the first things I look at when I start working on the orange truck. I know the oil pressures were right.

    G749 preservation

I like the original OD a lot. If those other two are real military camo, why not paint them back how they are. They look neat I think.

I'd be all over that if I was closer.

Electrical isn't my strong point. Need to work on that.

Got it figured out. (Pg. 304 of TM9-8024) The two wires hooked to the battery cable are 82 and 4. The other one is 7. It needs hooked back to the dash. What was throwing me off was 4 and how it appears to be run through the engine connector. Adding the "slave battery receptacle" should be easy.
