    M1088 camper conversion

And now it's powered! It's a little slower than I would have chosen but it will probably only be used once we've set up camp and not every time the door is opened. It's also a bit loud, but I do suspect it will be a little quieter once it's painted, paneled, and insulated.

I think my air compressor is cycling to much.

Thx Ronmar. I figured it was usage dependent but your first and last paragraphs were the most helpful to me.

I think my air compressor is cycling to much.

As an aside, what is the frequency/duration at which the compressor should cycle/dryer should purge?

    M1088 camper conversion

Was away for ~10 days exploring the southern UT desert with our little rig but have made some decent progress since returning. I am especially happy with this: Presently it is just gravity powered but I have other supplies arriving shortly which will remedy that. The wifey is particularly...

    CTIS trouble shooting

Thanks Ronmar. I was trying to correlate the tire psi to the transducer psi and wasn't sure how to match them up. This is on my list of things to do....

    CTIS trouble shooting

Video has link to sources but doesn't specify which pressure rating. Is there a 75 psi one or which specific transducer do we need? Got an actual part number/supplier?

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

110v? 12v? Hydronic? Will the tank be insulated? I am nearing the same step in my build and am not above blatantly stealing your ideas, if you don't mind.

    M1088 camper conversion

Confirmed- no rake to it. It is 145" across the top to the ground, near as I can measure to a gravel surface of the carport. No rake to the chassis, no rake to the habitat.

No worries Scott. Will PM you my contact info, feel free to use it.

    M1088 camper conversion

1 - Will need to get back to you later (not home right now). It should be fairly consistent though, as it is built squarely on the chassis, which has no static rake to it. I think I am right at 12' right now, but will have solar and branch deflectors up there as well (maybe ~3" higher?). 2 -...

    M1088 camper conversion

Indeed, looking good Recce! Get your build thread started!! I don't know if you have a thread somewhere else but despite the somewhat non-traditional re-purposing of these vehicles, this has been an impressively welcoming and supportive forum. Great info, very little BS to distract, and some...

    M1088 camper conversion

Still putting that choice off for now. I have found a sheet material of very thin alu, plastic, very thin alu for sign making which seems pretty popular with the pop top camper crowd. Thinking of using that. Also thinking just plain alu. Lots to still figure out... Understood. Concept is...

    M1088 camper conversion

Today was glamor shots day. Every now and then it feels like I need to get it out of the stall and see what it looks like in the open air. It's just as big as I remember but it's not as overwhelming as it was the first time I rolled it out of the build carport. Feels good to know that...

    M1078 rear tail light conversion.

Thank you Ronmar! Bookmarking this post for future reference. The converter I got worked but I am hesitant to trust it for brake lights... If I hard wire something in which I know doesn't depend on diodes or other electronics, I'd feel a lot better about it.

    M1078 rear tail light conversion.

It's been a while since I did it and I do remember it taking a try or two, but I think that was more because I misread the pin out for the 7-pin outlet or something. Once I had the wires in the correct place, it worked like a champ. I'm sometimes skeptical with small, cheap, aftermarket...

    M1078 rear tail light conversion.

Nope. No diodes, no nothing, just wired up as advertised and it actually worked. I was skeptical but it worked on my quick trial. I expect (and truly hope) that it will when I do the final install...

    M1078 rear tail light conversion.

BTW, I just used the 7 pin connection to test them out, and will probably just use that when I wire up the camper body with the running lights, etc...
