Updates: U-bolts are torqued, I’m not taking credit for this... Someone before me buggered this cover up! New cover and Lubelocker gasket installed. And another of those ‘because you’re already half way there’ projects. Replaced the u-joints in the rear drive shaft, the one at the differential...

Hot and humid today but I got some stuff done. Shims and pads came in so I wanted to assemble the leafs. Sprayed dry graphite coating on both surfaces where they meet . I got them both together with new hardware. I need some tubing for the top bolts but that's easy at this point. I got them in...

I bought them from DIY4X for a couple of reasons. One, after measuring my angles I needed 8 degrees. Two, they are pocket milled so the center pin goes through them and sits flat. Third, they come powder coated.

So what I was actually getting at was that with the shim the shocks will fit without any issues. No cutting and welding to get clearance for the body. It was short because it was an OEM shock. New shocks have no issues... 🙄

Out of curiosity with a shim to turn the axle... 🤔 It’s short of the upper mount but it can be rotated forward past the stud...

So... my rear cover isn’t painted. It’s coated with gear oil. I don’t remember catching it on the floor jack, I’m usually pretty careful about that . 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I wasn’t going to install another stock one. Solid nodular covers and some lubelocker gaskets are in order. Waiting on friction pads and...

Waiting to see how your conversion comes along! It's one of the reasons I picked the H2 wheels, I really like the way the H1's look but the tire selection and other issues people seem to have changed my mind. I bolted the H2's on and haven't really had an issue, a little rub at a hard right turn...

I'm torn at the moment between 35's and 37's. 🤷‍♂️ I am happy with the DIY4X stuff and they essentially match the front shackles now. The other thing I liked, if the rear is a little low I can change to a little longer shackle for $26. ORD's super shackles are $133.

Test fitting to check for shims to correct the pinion angle! Definitely some more room in the fender wells! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃

    Shackleflip and axle angle

Got my DIY4X flip in and set it on the ground to check for shims... 3 degrees at the transfer case and 11 at the pinion. Looks like I’m at 8 as well...

Thanks, I've put other trucks up on 6 tons and never had total confidence. These are pretty solid... Tools of the day... lots of sparks... a few burns. Cleaned the frame from the spring mounts back and coated with rust encapsulator. Installed the bump stops and the started on the new shackle...

Not stainless, just a gold zinc plating of some sort.

What do you do when you’re tired of working on the M1010... My what big drums you have!!! Is that politically incorrect to say?!?!?! 🤣 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃

I do know that... I have a quart of bleach packed in my camping stuff as well as filters. (y)

They basically are... one fresh and one grey waste. Those same jugs also fit in the passenger side storage area as well to carry more fresh water. I have purchased a hand pump faucet but I am also looking at a 24v electric pump that would be controlled by a switch on the faucet. I just haven't...

Back to some more finishing on the panels for table and fridge. I really like how this Waterlox lays down, two coats, scuff it, lay down the third coat then wait a few minutes and smooth it out. All with a foam brush. All slides from ovisonline.com, good prices, great service and support...

I think it’s the last piece of the puzzle I need. Decided to do a parts roll call... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃

They are very common in the Overland community. They are very energy efficient and will run on either AC or DC current, should pull a max of 2.6 amps on 24v. This one even has a freezer section which I have successfully made ice in. Dometic, ARB, Engle, Indel B, National Luna are a few of the...

I finally got the 3/4” Baltic birch plywood for my table and fridge sliders. Doing a dry run before applying finish to them. I ended up with plenty of clearance between the table and the fridge. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃

The plan is a futon mattress to double as seating (couch). I actually shopped them for size as I initially was doing my design. I found one I want, but you got to love this, to buy it I have to get a prescription from a doctor because it's chemical free. 🤦‍♂️ Yep, that's a law... 🤷‍♂️aua:shrugs:
