I’ve been wanting to upgrade from the single rv fixture for lighting in the box of the M1010. But I didn’t want to lose headroom being tall myself. Extrusion is 3/4” wide and 1/4” thick and 4’ long. I’ll need to do a little paint touch up. And there is the second setting in case we go to DEFCON...
I got latches installed on the drawers. Should hold them closed when they are full of stuff. Also made a cover for the rear slider. Proceeded with the sanding and finishing. I’ll probably do one more coat on the top surface... still waiting on the 3/4 Baltic birch for my other sliders...🤬. Oh...
Welcome!
The bottom alternator does not have to be replaced with another 24v one. You can use another 12v alternator. There is a lot of good information about this here: DUVAC Removal Plan 'B'
And I have two 24v alternator's from my conversion. My heater went away a week or so ago...
I finally got around to my rear slider... it pulls out 37". It’ll be a good cocktail table when sitting on the back steps! Where’s my bourbon?!?! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃
Trying to keep knocking through some things while waiting on materials to be delivered. Mounted the sliders for the table slider under the counter with the aluminum angle, I mounted the fridge sliders and mocked up the aluminum which will double as support and the fridge hold down when finished...
Fitting in the drawers! They still need some adjusting but they work pretty good. They need some hardware to keep them in place while on the road, just waiting for it to come in. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃
Thanks for the info I've heard that stuff works well! I was just at Woodcraft the other day. The drawers actually will be mounted on soft close drawer slides and hopefully, fingers crossed, have no contact with each other.
Progress on my drawers, I added a finger hole to pull them open with, I rounded most of the sharp edges on the router table, sanded, glued and nailed them together, added some braces for strength and to keep them square, sanded again and finally started the finish process. Two coats so far...
A guess is that fan was made to mount remotely underneath along the frame rail. Common on hotrods where there isn't a lot of radiator room to spare for extra coolers. It sounds like you have created a tug of war with airflow which would almost negate the cooler. It would do better without the...
Yep, that’s more saw dust... 🤦♂️. Decided to get going on the drawers, one 10” and three 5” ones. This was a dry fit and test in the cabinet. Now I need to glue and nail them together and apply some finish. I ordered hardware for them today as well...
All the measuring for the aluminum was to create this storage cabinet using 8 large rectangular milk crates for drawers. There will be a latch to hold them in place. I’m thinking of putting a plywood face on them for a more finished look.
I read what you went though to get everything lined up on yours. Mike, myself and a few others with M1010's have a uniquely different situation in that we have a compressor already hanging off the drivers side of the motor that lines up the crank pulley already. We wouldn't need to use the CPI...

You might want to read my post regarding that Nostalgic A/C. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/kinda-got-carried-away-m1028-rebuild.54469/post-2224882
Hope this helps.
I've wondered if they could option out the kit to work with our...
😱😱😱 Let the jigsaw puzzle 🧩 begin! There are 15 panels for the drivers side, and while I was assembling I made a sixteenth for a small storage shelf. While there is finally some relief, there was quite a bit of 🤬 and some WTF while trying to figure out how to get all the panels in and tighten up...
Finalizing layout before drilling holes. It’s always fun to drill on a finished product... 🙄. At worst you remake it... 🤬. And some of the first drawer sliders getting installed.
