    1994 M1078 Transmission

Drain the trans and transfer. If all that fluid is milky it’s more than just moisture. Water got in the trans or a bad trans cooler. Which is pretty rare.

    How to replace wiring boots?

The male boots can come off over the terminal. The female ones I buy replacements and crimp them on. Its easy. The males you need a 4 prong crimper or solder

    Transmission controller question

I figured it would help so you don’t end up with the wrong schematic.

    Transmission controller question

There are multiple models of wtec2 controllers. Alot of the civilian ones used in motor homes and such are 12v only, and are basic models are limited to 5 forward gears. Im not sure if thats just programming for the 5 gear limit or physical differences. The “max” version controller can do 12/24...

The data port on the right side of steering wheel ( mines gray) what scanner is needed to hookup for scan?

The plug on the left is an older style ste ice diag port. The pinout is available online. Its just for basic measurements. The grey plug on the right is wtec2 diagnostics. Its an older style interface. You would need a nexiq code reader with allison card or a computer with allison doc and an...

    1996 M-1078 transmission. New purchase

Maybe you can call allison with the trans serial and they can tell you its configuration. The manual lists some serial number ranges for the trans solenoid pack compatibility

    1996 M-1078 transmission. New purchase

There really isnt a wrong harness. Not for trans to cab. Its possible someone installed a trans intended for wtec3 use that would be a cable issue inside the trans though. I believe the tms have a schematic and wiring pinouts.

    1996 M-1078 transmission. New purchase

Look for old cracking insulation on the cab to trans harness. Take the front grill off. It starts at the drivers side of the hump and goes back.

    MEP-803a injection pump question

All of the arms move. They are just tight. I have worked them they don’t seem to want to loosen up. I was thinking about taking each one apart one at a time. Havent taken one apart before. Don’t want to damage the pump.

    MEP-803a injection pump question

On a MEP-803a I have, the injections pump fueling control arms that have the pins that sit in the fuel rack are very tight. So tight that the rack spring cant move them all the way to run position. Most small injection pumps I have seen they are loose to the point where you can shake the ip and...

cab lift spare tire and suspension inop M1083A1 WO/W

What happens when you use the hand pump? Does it seem to be moving fluid or just build up pressure and become hard to pump?

cab lift spare tire and suspension inop M1083A1 WO/W

Maybe something is connected wrong. Did you install a new manifold or used? Sometimes you have to bleed the system to get the air out. Do any of the functions work with the hand pump? You can take lines off and see if you have hyd flow. I have seen situations where there was previously water in...

    1996 M-1078 transmission. New purchase

I have good tested ones on hand. It’s cheaper to have yours repaired though, if it’s repairable.

M1078 starts runs for minute then loses electrical power

Does it have the disconnect relay? Box to the right of the batt box.

Help ID a leaking part on an A1's brake system

I believe that is a pressure protection valve.

What's that? Right from the ECM

Your ecm is dead because the internal memory battery died from old age. Has nothing do to with the bypassed filter.

Broke down in Picayune Mississippi ... Need a lowboy to haul back to Louisiana

If you are blowing out trans fluid and the trans is over heating then it shouldnt be driven. You can pull the two rear driveshafts out the hub ends and have a wrecker lift the front. If you want to drive it home you need to figure out where fluid is coming out and why. There is a pump on the...
