I've saved all my pitted wheel cylinders/masters for future rebuilding. Some soul 50 years from now will want pitted cores on the cheap for sleeving.
Awesome find on the master Dan, i'll be picking one up when I can.
By and far the BEST thing you can stock up on is KNOWLEDGE and notes taken from talking with the past generation who wrenched on these vehicles. These old timers are getting harder to find, passing away or retiring and with them goes all the little trick's of the trade. The more we can gather...
 Mine was full of seeds too, the pan had dead bugs in it as well. Vortox makes new oil bath cleaners for farm tractors and I would love to put one on the GMC to work with the 6.2's flow requirements.
No Dave, to the best of my knowledge I will not be laboring anytime soon. Is that even possible? :? As a child I remember reading my older brothers magazines in the dark, which is probably why I know nothing about sex to this day.
Two wheels are complete with new seals, washed and repacked...
Guy's, I have not given up. Due to some unexpected things going on here at home, I have decided it's time to make some changes for myself. At 21, I am LONG overdue for a running driving vehicle. It's been a heck of an adventure and I have met some very cool people and learned a lot of things. I...
YES! I know some folks like to jump right in and turn the key on something that's been sitting for so many years. I had my 6.2 motor a year and come start up day I decided to pull the intake and check for obstructions. Found hardware sitting ontop of the intake valves ready to be sucked into the...
I'm using the original fuel pump for diesel in mine. Will report how it works. Otherwise, i'm pullin the old pump out and makin a new top cover with custom pickup tube.
One little thing that has always bothered me was the tailgate loosey goosey fit with the bed upon lowering and raising. Bushings and new pins is a great idea.
Much obliged my good friend, the "ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION" will be appearing on the list of acknowledgements that will accompany the truck at all events. And as for specific forum members who have shipped numerous parts my way at no cost, I will simply put down "Steel Soldiers Forum Community"...
I ran across a post 2 years ago of a member here who reproduced one. Time to exercise my google fu, in which I carry a blackbelt.
Edit: I found the post but it appears you already did as well.
I have the Military Ordnance numbers but they are only of help when it comes to new old stock parts houses like Memphis. Plus, these numbers are Canadian which do not always have the same part number as US parts for some strange reason.
Outer washer is 5298653

Roger Roger, what's our victor vector? Sorry, airplane fan.
Mesa, awesome man. I have a buddy in Phoenix who for a few cases of fat tire would be willing to store or pick the up for me. Also have aunt/uncle in Phoenix.
You can keep me posted via PM or give me a shout anytime. Going to PM you...
That is A okay man! I am an eternal optimist and have instead shifted my "excitement" over to the fact my aunt and uncle will be down for Halloween. I have not seen my aunt since her accident in DC, several months ago. Miss them both terribly. Weather has been so nice all day we have had the...
Crunched some numbers today. The GMC needs $910 until it's finished.
I have $850 worth of gun work sitting here that keeps pouring in the front door. So for the time being, the cab will just continue to be stuffed with bought parts until it's all ready to throw together in one get go.
Sweet...
I sure hope so, my buckets are apart for rebuilding. Parking on the lawn is just great ain't it? I wake up every morning to a cup of cino and the smile of a GMC. It's a beautiful thing.
Should have some updates to post in a few weeks when some parts arrive.
Are you getting your frostbitten...
No problem buddy, I am a pretty patient guy! More importantly, hope you are well! And your not old, not even my grandfather is old and he is going on 75. Smart as a whip, we all keep em' sharp.
Correct, 3 blackouts on the front and 4 on the rear. Or just 2 on the rear if the early style factory lighting setup is retained, which has just 1 left stoplight and 1 right marker. Bad idea for sure from a visibility standpoint. Then again, the roads weren't very crowded back then and most...
