Cranking with the top cover off the IP is a good idea. It will run that way too, if you dont mind fuel spilling everywhere. This will rule out a 12v solenoid issue as well as a HPR issue (housing pressure regulator aka the checkball).

I hope when the crank on the old motor went it didnt snap the rotor on the injection pump. If that happens, the pump will be a bear to get fuel through if it's not spinning. I have a 12v frame pump and key on engine off it does push fuel through the IP as observed with a clear fuel return hose...
Here was a pic of the Spicer 211932X. If I could have just gotten it over the big lip of the slip yoke I could have gotten it clamped on. Wouldnt have been perfect but still very useable and enough stretch in the boot itself.

I'd remove the glow plugs for easier faster cranking to get the fuel down to the injectors. Once you see things getting wet and or seeing diesel fog from the glow plug holes, start putting them back in.

Backed the governor nut out 1 full turn. Truck is back to normal, idled a little too high but a little backing out on the external low idle screw got it in the sweet spot. She runs like she did 3 years ago, and with all the new seals is leak free.
It was a great learning curve completely re...
I don't mind if the filters do the work, I buy em' buy the case. I opted to redo my IP seals on my own rather than send it off not to conserve costs but to learn how the pump works which was totally worth it. I dont know for sure if the tank is causing the issue as pinching the line on the frame...
I put a seal kit In it, a complete teardown minus the head and rotor. New drive shaft seals, top cover seals, throttle shaft seals, advance plunger seals, etc. It was leaking pretty bad just sitting.
I was out driving around more today. I have my 12v lift pump on a toggle switch. Turning the...
I never started the truck before the IP reseal so there's no way of knowing if it was having this stall issue before hand. It would make sense.....because it came to me with 2 replacement filter screens in the glovebox when I towed it home. This truck used to be mine 3 years ago and at that time...
I'll try to keep this short. Posted on 2 other boards, with no replies.
Does anyone know if the throttle shaft can be installed on the min-max gov linkage incorrectly? I know the top cover of the Db2 pump itself can be installed on the wrong side of the gov linkage (causing a run away) but this...
Good to know, it looks like the new aftermarket shafts for the K5 all use the threaded seal that fits over the female slip yoke end. Probably why nobody makes a boot anymore.

So Spicer 211932X was a no go. Too tight. I'm thinking a dust boot off a Rancho shock absorber will fit perfect with two hose clamps. Vibration should be no problem as we dont generally drive on the road with the hubs engaged anyway.

Thanks for the help, so it's not a Nav block but it is peculiar it has the dots which I've only see on 6.5 blocks. I ran across a post last week of someone stating blocks like mine were a transition late 90s block kind of thing. I'll try to find it.

I'll get additional pics tomorrow. It is stamped 6.2 in the front. I just thought the captains bars and dots in the intake valley was something special. Aren't plain run of the mill blocks void of these features?

The block in my M1009 has the dots in the intake valley like a lot of the GEP produced motors. But it lacks the Navistar diamond in the intake valley. I'm thinking it's a transition block made by GM just before they handed the reigns over to Navisar.
Are there any 6.2 nerds here who can...
9 out of 10 electrical gremlins are a ground issue. Theres a hidden ground above the parking brake lever under the left of the dash. Have you checked it? Not sure what it grounds but I know it's an important one.

British Columbia? Sounds like a glow plug issue. Start by cleaning all terminal connections at the fire wall bus bars, perform the glow plug resistor bypass and make sure all grounds are golden. This is just basic CUCV 101 maintenance and is considered mandatory for all CUCV's who's prior...
Mine ran fine for a year on a shot lift pump. When I changed filters and it wouldnt prime is when I found it was toast. I put a 10 psi electric on it on the frame, with no change in performance. Mind you this truck is in tip top shape, no air leaks, low miles etc.
So I can't speak for all...
