So yesterday was spent tearing out the interior and hosing the dirt out for now. Found another bullet hole and another 5.56 mangled bullet near the hole by the passenger foot area. Both came from the outside. Very cool...
I found my fender, inner fender, door glass and drivers door shell for...
Fantastic work, most would have declared that a total loss and parted out which I always feel is very wasteful. I just picked this M1009 on the cheap, the prev owner also got into a little bender. the other car lost of course. I'll be hitting the junkyards soon for a fender and door too!
Oh i'll give you some visual stimulation....tomorrow......I think it was an in service thing.....downtime is hard on equipment and the mind. What you got? Your speaking in riddles and giving me entertainment. What the crap man, you need a signature.
Spent yesterday tearing out the rubber floor and insulation. Lots of moisture, even for AZ under there. A few small rust holes, nothing major. Wire brush and evaporust soon. Found a dime from 1986, hey, same year of manufacture. :D Found a little 5.56 hole in the floor panel, with the offending...
Yeah I saw replacement spindles on ebay for $30 or so. I may see if this one can be saved by pounding the lip round again, it's just a sealing surface and I usually use RTV for locking hubs anyway. It should be repairable with a BFG. HMMM
If you have a spare locking hub, I would need the screws...
I scored 2 6TL's from Interstate today for $130 out the door. Schwin!!! Diode snipped out, horn fixed!
Both Gen lights illuminate on start up then quickly extinguish, very happy! Glow plugs are cycling great, it has 8 new ones already installed. Runs like a raped ape, no leaks anywhere...
Here is some more pics, I am off to cut out the diode this morning and get a new air filter in there. Priority replacement is the front wheel spindle which was dented in the accident that destroyed the fender and door. It tore the locking hub off apparently, if anyone has a complete spindle and...
You know Dave-O I can't wait to see ya again, do you golf at all? Bring yer clubs I get free golf at the country club and can bring a guest free if you have a collared shirt. So bring one, mine won't fit ya, worst case we have to hit up JC penny. I don't golf much myself but hitting things with...
So the first question I have for you CUCV electrical guy's. When the headlights are turned on via the service light switch, the headlights come on fine, but so does the horn. The steering wheel horn button doesn't work at all, however.
Inspection is on the 24th so I have some time to trouble...
The engine is almost finished. Oh, and I put a deposit down on this M1009 tonight locally.Oh yeah I think it's safe to say i'll still be here for awhile. Bunch a **** enablers you all are and I love every one of ya

Thanks! Am I correct in assuming any 80's Chevy truck body parts will fit such as glass, doors and hoods, etc? I know of a couple parts CUCV trucks in town otherwise there are lots of 80's Chevy's here to pick from.
I found this locally for $1300. This morning we met, nice man. I spent an hour with him and the SS app on my phone getting the battery wires cleaned up and repaired which were a corroded frayed mess. Once that was squared away it fired right up and purred.
It's been painted rustoleum hunter...
Mystery solved that big 1/2 "seal" is actually a retainer. The push rod seal was still in the main body plate of the air pak, it was so dirty inside I did not see it was still in there. Pulled right out by threading a 1/2 bolt into it and tapping it out. Nathan gave me an original leather push...
AIR PAK parts kit has arrived! Dan, I had a question for you. It seems the pushrod seal in the GMC air pack is much larger in size than the pushrod seal that comes with the M800 5 ton kit. Will the 5 ton seal work or do I need to give Precision Rebuilders another call for the right part?
Here's...
It's all good Stan, I am on a 105 year plan myself and if I play my cards right I'll make it there. So he'll have to sit at the bar for awhile until I get there.
This news made my day, the shop called and the block is done. It passed magnafluxing and was line honed with the girdle installed...
It's time like these I wish I had more of my Steelsoldiers buddies closer, I got a text tonight from my friends wife that my friend Kyle was in a car accident back in August and did not make it. She had no way of contacting me until she found an email I had sent to him months ago wondering if...
I totally forgot Dan! I've been non stop since this morning and am winding down for the day at 9:20. Bout my usual bed time these day's. You can skip the socks but I do need new chonies. The elastic in mine are plum worn out! Leave out the ones with bacon strips.
PM headed yer way.
Sorry I didn't see this sooner Dan, I mostly need the light bucket guts since mine were totally corroded and flaking apart but a couple of my buckets themselves also have broken off screws inside and it would be easiest to just use another bucket. So whatever you can spare.
I only need 2 sets...
Today was a big day. Got my refund on my wheel bearings, and dropped the block and crank off for machine work today. Also picked up a new phone last night so I am able to take 720p HD video now along with pics again.
Section8, there is a snap ring (more of a spring wire clip) inside under the...
