Dan, I certainly can!! They are still unopened. I need 2 rear wheel bearings and their corresponding races for 1 wheel hub. All the other wheels looked great except that one which had pitted bearings. I'll shoot you $20 for postage brother!! Very much obliged.... List? You got it Dan...

    My GMC, a little update

Nathan is mailing my AIR PAK bits tomorrow. For the price of postage I might add. So a big hats off to Nathan Bequette and Precision Rebuilders. Hit NAPA this morning. 2 wheel bearings and 2 races for $117. That's $20 cheaper than Memphis Equipment. Here are the part numbers BR39590...

    My GMC, a little update

Well I thought finishing that box of AIR PAK parts would a great way to kick off re-entering the GMC zone. A Mr.Nathan Bequette from Precision Rebuilders was who I had written down as a parts source and guru on the model 2500685 AIR PAK. Wouldn't you know it, he is on Facebook and for the past...

    366 with Allison in G749?

AT545 is a stout unit, 4 speed no lockup just direct drive. By all means if you can manage to rebuild that Hydramatic I vote rebuild, now that my own GMC has taken more of a "project toy" status like it should have been from day 1, I wish I had scrounged up an original 302 and Hydramatic to...

    366 with Allison in G749?

Paul, what model Allison do you have? Low range is really only a must if you plan to off road her quite a bit. The 366 was an industrial motor designed for heavy trucks so it's a good choice. There was a fireman here a few years ago that posted a picture of his GMC with a 366, I had it on my old...

    my xm215

If you want to fix that wiring without spending an arm and a leg, here's a tip for ya. Often times it's just the exposed portion of the harness that's rotted. Everything under the electrical tape (all 500 feet of it) is usually quite soft and....supple....yeah.....oh yeah, so what I did just cut...

    My GMC, a little update

I was going to order 2 bearings and 2 races from Memphis. I believe Dave-O gave me the part #'s for the seals. Ahh yes, here they are on the back of the Levy book. I see his black boot print over the back page.

    My GMC, a little update

I forgot that just before I went AWOL here I had bought the 12 wheel cylinders I needed. I only have half of them on. It's funny because with how little i've played with the Jimmy the past several months, let alone thought about her all of the to do's and specs are coming right back to me...

    My GMC, a little update

BOO!!! I am taking my brothers job at the country club at the end of August. With some steady income I still have every intention of completing little Jimmy. She waits, patiently. :) When finished I can begin putting aside northern money for work with Davey Jones!

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

Nope, I want to say the M35 series MC's had some internal check valve in them. I want to also say the mounting holes may be different and wouldn't be a direct bolt up. Likely the same for the 5 ton units. I was going to have my MC sleeved for $120.

Contemplating a Bobber! To do or not to do that is the question!

I've crunched the numbers before and I recall the GMC transfer being good for over 30,000 ft lbs of input torque. It sees around 34,000 with the Hydramatic when shifted into low reverse. Beefy indeed. Montanatower, if your making an offroad wrecker chances are your keeping 6x6 capability...
