I will be at Plymouth with an M1078 (Find the kitchen trailer). I agree with all that has been said above. Don't rush in yet, talk to the folks that have been building, repairing and driving these MV's for years. I have learned much from these pages, but even more in person. The greatest thing...
And just so you know, a post about an M1078 should be under FMTV present day conflict vehicles. Especially if you have more questions pertaining to an M1078.
Browsing the interweb tonight I ran across this........

Yes, Technical Manuals (TM's). They are located free on this website for most vehicles. Private party was a collector, not a business that rebuilds and repairs them. Just a guy who took care of his truck
Well, I am nowhere near the expert here but have enjoyed owning a M1078 for about a year now. I am in no way an expert mechanic, but I can follow a TM to troubleshoot some of the common problems I have found so far. I got lucky in that I bought a truck from a private party that was well taken...

So, I recently acquired a trailer mounted MEP 803A. I haven't even had time yet to change out all the fluids and do my checks, but it seems to run strong (2500 hours). With another big weather system rolling in this weekend, and the weather being nice today, I decided to go look through a couple...
I had one of these but have never seen that hitch on a military trailer. Switching back to the military will probably shave a few pounds off that tongue weight LOL. Good luck, I wish I never sold mine now as I really have a use for one at my new property.
Doesn't look like that one even saw service, the paint in the bed is not all rubbed off. Alo looks like a complete cargo cover to boot. How did that escape for only 650 LOL. Nice catch on that one. I was up at Doyle a few weeks ago, they have a ton of these up there.
Are you making a new harness? Or removing the military one? If the latter, just cut off the end for the vehicle side and put on a new connector. I buy old military trailer harnesses and convert them, so I have one of each for my trailers as sometimes I pull with a military truck and use the...
wish i would have had my glasses on...added an extra 1 (M101 not M1101). Well maybe someone else is looking for the M1101/2 so I guess at least it's not wasted effort.
