    An American Deuce in Canada

My new best friend ODNorth brought his wrecker out to a charity show. That truck is a beauty, looked brand new. I was even granted permission to operate the boom. That was fun! I only got to experience operation for a short time but I could see how capable that truck is. Thanks Rob.

    An American Deuce in Canada

The year of the car show. I've been pretty active this year. It's really the first time I've been involved with car shows. It turns out to be really fun. You get to meet all kinds of great people. Now I would like a gun ring, Combat ready mannequins , and an artillery piece to tow behind...

So, my accessory switch got left on overnight

What is described in this thread is almost exactly what happened to my truck. The only difference is....... I left the switch on by accident. My truck was suffering from oil dilution before I left the pump on over night. I tried to turn the motor over and it laboured, so I stopped. This...

Sounds like your squared away. Enjoy your truck

    foam filled tires

It's all good, I'm glad you have your tires on the way and you can get rolling with confidence. Check the brakes while you have the tires off if you haven't already. The brake system on these trucks is unforgiving. "doing it twice to make it nice" is not the normal work ethic around here...

    foam filled tires

72m35a2, Try not to take it personally my friend. This site is pretty close knit unit, with its share of god ol' boys. Many different personalities and a wealth of experience. They just want to ensure your truck is safe not just for you and other people on the road but for the MV...

    foam filled tires

I hate to be the bad news guy, but it is my humble opinion to say those tires are toast. If you don't get all the foam out they will be off balance and will vibrate like a bugger. I'd say at the very least break the tire off the rim and clean it out properly. Buy a new tube

    fuel filter change

I start with the motor mounted filters first, then the frame rail primary filter. Just make sure the filter seats properly and be sure to clean the cans out before reassembly. Switch on the lift pump in the tank, then purge the air out of the system. I start at the filter closest to the tank...

    Savagleable, or a boat anchor?

Just make sure its well ventilated if you crawl in there to clean it. Enclosed space + rust = oxygen deprived environment.

    An American Deuce in Canada

I didn't want to scare them away with the Gweilo taking photos. I got to look at a fresh pair of girls every 15 minutes for 2 hours, I just couldn't jeopardise it all.

    An American Deuce in Canada

Thanks bandit. It's a real treat. It's a stress relief for me just to drive it to Walmart. When I take her out into the great Canadian expanse I feel confident. So much has been done, work ethic and care. Roughly 620 miles since the engine and drive line upgrades and repairs. Doesn't leak a...

Singling out stock wheel advice please

The tires are to wide for the rim. That coupled with the fact these 2 piece snap ring style is an ancient design. You need to take them to a tire shop to press the rubber down just to install the snap ring. No shortage of videos on the internet of these 2 piece style of wheels detonating while...

Singling out stock wheel advice please

I used stock rims for over a year in off road conditions. They do the job! you can see in the picture how I ran them without flipping the hubs. However like mentioned above, airing down you run the risk of spinning the tube. You should start planning to get proper rims though. Firstly for...

Need Advice after high water rescue M939

If you are using the truck over the course of a few days and don't have time to do the PM. in the morning before you head out, just crack the drain plugs on your axles, trans, and transfer case. The water will be at the bottom, let it drain out before you head out!
