Thought I would rap up this thread on coolant...
I switched to CAT ELC coolant (the strawberry color). Runs great but had to do 4 flush and fills with water to make sure I got all the yellow stuff out first. Strangely, the CAT coolant was cheaper than aftermarket from my local CAT dealer...
Thanks for the input sargentworlf, my truck had the little hinge brackets for the shelf already installed as well. It is the two bolts forward on the platform that are not already there in the floor.
I ordered the Florida title for mine from GL and had zero issues titling and registering it in Missouri. Had to register as a commercial truck because of the weight but the LMTVs meet all "street legal" requirements for a motor vehicle.
Thanks guys for the support, I have finally made contact with the individual and following your recommendations I have decided to give the situation until the end of the month to get resolved. My apologies for mixing this issue with the actual subject of this thread, installing a gunners...
I cleared enough room in the workshop to back in my LMTV with the 1082... have to post a pic tomorrow of that beautiful site. Although the the ridiculously tall 1082 blocks my view of the workshop TV :)
After spending a day pressure washing off the years of oxidation I pulled off the 4 lifting...
I haven't given up on figuring out towing unloaded. Got my M720 home from a friend that loaded it on a flatbed. First issue I noticed is that most GL sites will sling the dollies around using a forklift under the front axle and guess what, they bend the front tie-rods so the wheels are not toed...
LMTV Gunners Platform Install FINISHED
I have been busy reconfiguring my workshop for the winter to try and fit the new M1082 trailer and M720 Dolly Set inside so I can work on all the military fun things when the weather gets bad so I haven't posted lately.
Still messy but everything fits...
LOL I am thinking the same thing now that I have one... how can you go wrong getting an M1082 :)
The workshop and area around the workshop are starting to look like a motor pool! flashbacks will soon follow I think.
Only issue I have found so far on the trailer are a missing crank handle, one...
Well,
I didn't see a whole lot of uses for the LMTV M1082 trailers but I couldn't pass up the auction prices out of Ft. Hood the last few weeks. So... here she is.
It is a trailer so I guess I will do some trailering with it ;)
Oh and I got the M720 Dolly set home finally as well... WAYYYY...
Fantastic pics and progress! Your engine compartment looks stunning. Did you clean the engine or did it come like that? Great pics keep them coming.
Nice idea on the gen setup.

Can you describe the loose wire on the back of the relay? Pulled out of the back of the PDP or loose contact?
I had my brake lights stop working and using the -20 found the brake pedal switch to relay didn't have contunity so I used a jumper wire in its place. I checked the connections on the...
