sargentwolf,
I am outside STL near Wentzville. Since the heatwave is still going on I will take mine out for a spin on I-70 this weekend and see how the fan behaves. When I pulled a 1082 home from Ft. Leonard wood, with outside temps around 68 if I remember correctly, my fan only came on once...
My stock 1997 LMTV runs happy on the highway at 52-53 mph. There are a number of threads that talk about cruising speeds. Topping out at 58 and hitting the governed speed is taxing the 3116 with stock gearing so most folks run under 55.
This is just me but if I could run 60 without hitting max...
Ok have some time to give the build much needed attention. Three items on the menu.
1. Adapt a sink and faucet using one of the original radio racks as a prototype to try and keep the style of the commo shelter. Will post pics tomorrow of how this is looking and showing the concept.
2. Devise...
Post your build progress I am interested to follow an Overland build. Did one already on my Hydro repair trailer for my jeeps to pull and starting on a m1102 with S250 shelter. S280 will be my future Overland project.
Those battery repair station S280s with the shower setup are pretty sweet. Great score!
I am still trying to find an S280 with the dolly mounts to setup my Overland trailer with the M720 dolly I won.
Thanks Bobcat701 :)
I installed a little 6 port 12v fuse box under the PDP down below and to the right of the CTIS box. I just ran 12v power from there back to the CB control box and also added a 12V outlet behind the passenger seat down low in front of the storage box so I can power my ARB...
Finished installing my CB setup and tuned with SWR meter.
Control box installed under the driver seat. Fabricated a plate to cover the original military antenna hole mount.
CB: Cobra WXST with Firestik 2' antenna and Firestik fire ring 18' cable.
For some reason it feels like the LMTV is...
Went thru the TM 20-1 troubleshooting and figured out that there is no continuity from the brake switches on the pedal to the relay that energizes the brake lights. As Suprman suggested to me originally I ran a new wire from the brake pedal switches to the relay and now the brake lights work...
I believe the swap from II to III is covered in TM 9-2320-365-20-3 (A0 trucks), 8-8. WTEC III TRANSMISSION CONTROLS INITIAL INSTALLATION, page 662 paragraph 8-26.
The Mobile ATF/DM I used for my swap is Allison approved conventional ATF. Otherwise its TRANSEND for full synthetic (tes295)... so, what Suprman said :)
mkcoen,
You guys are out in front of me on the install. I have what I believe is the main return line from the evaporator to the compressor (big fat long hose). I have been playing around with how that hose routes down from the main unit to the compressor so let me know how you routed it. I have...
Let me clarify my last post... When referring to Gen1 and Gen2 I am talking about the cab main unit with the controls. I have not seen the different versions of the condenser so I don't want to call them Gen1/Gen2. Although, why not start calling them Gen2 Condensers (with the L brackets) and...
Ok. Will look at my condenser harness in the morning. There should be the 4 pin to the condenser harness from the main unit, then a 2 pin to the dryer, and a second 2 pin that goes to the compressor. We may have a situation where there are two unknown pigtails that complete the connections to...
I have zero experience with charging issues to date however, for what its worth, there was a bulletin about an issue with a fusible link failing that caused charging issues and was discussed within the forum. Somewhere right on the generator. bulletin told units to remove the link completely. I...
