    A/C Diagnostic help

Took out the water valve and replaced it with a normally open ball valve. Toggled to A/C on valve closes. Turn off/heat on valve automatically opens. Works great, no more hot water getting in while AC is on.

    Pitman arm removal

I’m going to be replacing my pitman arm soon but unsure about the locking tab system that’s on there. Also what size pitman arm puller to buy. M1152A1

Smoke on start up (not glow plugs)

Where do you park it? How long does it sit between starting up. Could be moisture/condensation building up in exhaust. Or somthing burning off that gets in there?

    Fluids for HMMWV

If you are doing the hubs I would open the inspection cover and try to clean out any sludge that has built up. I replaced the gear oil and shortly after had to do a seal. I drained the new gear oil and it was all discolored from the sludge on the bottom.

Pitman arm and idler arm movement

I notice while driving that there seems to be some play/wondering in the steering. I jacked it up and started moving/pulling things. I noticed some play in the idler arm and a small amount of movement on the pitman arm at the ball joint. pictures of movement attached

In need of A/C evaporator diagram/pictures

Attempted to take apart today. I got some of it apart but I think I would have to take the whole unit out to get it apart. I put it back together after determining that it was a bad idea to try to get it apart. i ended up blowing air through the drain hole. Then I stuck a garden hose through...

In need of A/C evaporator diagram/pictures

I’m in need of a diagram/pictures or possibly a tm for my AC unit in my M1152A1. The AC evaporator area seems to be clogged and I have condensation coming from everywhere and water on the floor. The water that does somewhat drip out the drain is really dirty. Also when I turn I can hear what...

Alignment help needed after shim removal!

So I had to replace a seal on the hub and while I had everything off I decided to take the shims off. There were 3 on each side and there were slotted so I loosened the nuts and slid them out. I put everything back together and my toe in is crazy out of wack. No idea how to align this thing and...

    M1152 A/C blowing hot

Do you know where the condensation drain under the front passenger side evaporator is supposed to be hooked up to or where it drains to. It didn’t come with the hose nor could I see any holes a tube should pass through.

    M1152 A/C blowing hot

That’s what mine looks like when AC is on. The heater core inside still gets really hot.

    M1152 A/C blowing hot

Are you going to change the electric hot water valve? Or just clamp it off when it’s hot out. Kinda got the same problem with the hot water still heating up my heater core while the A/C is on. Read somewhere that these valves don’t work that great and hot water still gets through. I...

    A/C Diagnostic help

I looked at the water valve today looks like it’s working. Although the heater core still gets pretty hot.

    A/C Diagnostic help

I’ll put some more R134A in. Got a new toggle switch today from Advanced Auto parts. It is pretty close to what was in there without spending $100 on an exact new one.

    A/C Diagnostic help

Also the heater core is really hot in the front Evap assembly. I think the water valve is stuck open. Tried to clamp it off with some vise grips but it still seemed hot . Probably didn’t clamp good enough. Is the valve held closed when the power to the A/C is on? Seems strange And one last...

    A/C Diagnostic help

Ok got a new multimeter. What a difference. The A/C switch on the dash appears to not work. Jumped 435A to 435E and bypassed the switch. Got power all the way to the low pressure switch. Nothing past it. Jumped it and every thing turned on. So it looks like the A/C switch is bad and possible...

    A/C Diagnostic help

This was from the other day when I got the compressor to turn on for a second.

    A/C Diagnostic help

What I’m trying to do is follow the origin of the power and see where it goes. If I find something that appears to not work I would bypass it. I got the clutch to engage and compressor to work for a short time by bypassing all of it by running a wire from batter to it. It turned on without any...
