Long wheelbase trucks are hard to come, by I would love to have one .
I can't even fathom cutting one up, but to each his own .
That being said I have some front springs w/hangers should you want em .
Those trucks look really clean in the picture
Somebody did a pretty good job making that rooftop .
That's a very cool truck I hope someone will get it and not let it go to scrap, I would dearly love to have it, but man NE is a long way from OR
What Jeep Sinker said is spot on, and to add to that I would drain the transmission into a pan and get out my magnet first .
Takes very little effort, and if there's no problem you can just screen the oil and put it back in .
You need the drain the oil first anyway if you're going to look down...
@Wreckclues
Removing the electronic fuel shut off solenoid on my 5 ton and throwing it in the trash was one of the better mods I ever made, the manual cut off works fantastic .
Edit: Looks like my truck is newer/different than yours, I have the 8.3
I used it to haul my M1102 trailer full of junk to a local Military show/swap meet .
Small turn out due to Labor day wknd, but still fun, saw lots of people I don't get to see otherwise, and consumed some delicious Mexican food .
Here's some pics ...
The ratios are the same .
If the spring pad width and wms to wms (wheel mount surface) are the same, then you're in business .
The u-joint and e-brake cables are minor and most likely the same, crossover joints are common .
The tape measure is your friend .
Yeah I know the 8.3 is a gutless turd in stock form, I just didn't bother to take that part out of the quote .
So the 900 series trucks have a weaker T-case than the 800 series trucks ?
I've never actually seen one broken, they're humongous, but I've heard about it a lot on here, seems...
So I hear this alot, although have never seen an example of it .
The A1 and A2 both having auto trans, only the A2 has a weak T-case that cannot be used in reverse low range under any circumstances ?
I would like to understand this more better .
I tow my military trailers with either one of these, the fancy black one can be mounted upside down or right side up it doesn't care, you just flip the ball mount over .
I just use my old Ford pu, I've never had to fab anything to tow them .
I went to this last year, sold some stuff, bought some stuff, it is a smaller event than some of you are used to with great food and awesome people, I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it if you can make it on short notice . 🇺🇸
They're getting cheaper, these look almost as strange as your original ones, I bet with some butt connectors and some wire crimpers you could have your original military connections put right on these in no time .
One turn on the screw won't burn you down, but it will give you an answer, you can always hook up your guage after .
I dump all my old used motor oil in my Deuce, then when I'm out on fires I just take out straight diesel because I don't want to deal with that oil mess out in the woods, I've...
If you went from 5400' to 305' you need more fuel .
It's a pretty simple procedure just take that cover off and turn that screw out one full turn and see what difference it makes then go from there .
Those things are ridiculously expensive as you already know, have you thought about just trying some regular old LED 7 each headlights ?
I have different versions of these in my trucks and they work great and they're cheap .
Just a thought ...
I put my towbar on the rear of my truck backwards .
I made it to where the loop just barely slips over the top when you push it forward, it's never going to come off unintentionally .
I saw a guy pulling a tank around with this method, and though I do not have a tank as of yet, I just wanted...
I just a Parker in my Deuce and I have to lean down and put my ear by the tank to hear it run, but it's working .
My old pump I could hear from the drivers seat .
