What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Going into your airpack booster ? If you still had air in your lines it doesn't seem like it would have made you kiss the windshield, did you bleed the booster ?

    Pinion angle shims

In all my years of doing this I dont ever recall using 8° shims, but nowadays many of the lift blocks have the angle built in to them, which is the way to go . This is about the most simple suspension that exists so it's a great platform to learn from . Leaf springs don't move nearly as much...

    Parking brake

Okay so hang on my bad, you're talking about the other little spring not the spring that goes straight across to the frame, I just climbed under my truck braving spiders and spider webs and took some pictures for you see if this helps

    Parking brake

Man if you were working on this from under the truck it's really going to bring the suck, that spring goes from the top of your outer shoe over to a tab off the top of the frame right underneath your rear cab mount crossover . And it is a bear from under the truck, try some long needle nose...

    Parking brake

You can buy an entire box of all assorted sizes from horror fright for like I think 25 bucks or less ?

    Pinion angle shims

I've lifted Vehicles 4 to 6" inches many times over the years, I've never had a rear drive line come out that far, you have the wrong drive line, that's definitely a no bueno . Did You move the rear axle back with offset spring pads ? You're going to have to stretch that rear drive line out...

    Wheel identification

My thought would be unless they're junk (unlikely) if you can get six or more of those for that price I definitely would buy them no matter what . No matter what it says on the sidewall that tire there is no substitute for a tape measure, and it will answer your questions in a jiffy

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I drug my M50A2 Deuce around yesterday (hope that counts) with my Superduty with a tow bar . I have hauled a Deuce before on a trailer behind one of my pickups, bet never with a tow bar . The tow bar makes it a different animal, it will push you thru the turns differently, and of course you...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

If you just use your bottle jack and lift it up just a minimum to where the the wheel is loose on the studs, you can just walk the wheel right off and roll it over and lean it up against the truck you won't need all that cherry picker business The Jack stands you're trying to use are way too...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I just stick a piece of wood in between the bottle jack and the axle housing and lift it up, you only got to go an inch or two to get the wheel off, assuming you're just trying to remove the wheel

    M929 Won’t Start

What he said ⬆ And as far as you lights go you can just use LED lights, they work from 6 to 36 volts, as for your turn signals they now make flashers that work with the low resistance LED lights, so that's no longer a challenge . Modern-day phone chargers typically just have a USB outlet that...

    LA M35a2 Commercial Insurance

Not expensive at all, it started out around 1200 bucks then dropped 800 bucks and now I it's around 350 bucks and that's for a year . Edit: the price is for the add on to standard insurance

    LA M35a2 Commercial Insurance

I have to have $3 million worth of insurance on my Deuce when I fight fires for the gubmint, and I do it through Progressive, and they sub me thru Artisans . I think it depends on the the person you're talking to when you call, sometimes they just use that short number, sometimes they add a...

    M929 Won’t Start

My old Deuce only had one fuse that I know of and it's at the fuel pump . My M931 doesn't have any fuses that I know of, however I've never really looked because it's never had a problem . Did your truck originally come with fuses ? or is this something somebody added when they messed with...

    M929 Won’t Start

The center wire is your activation wire for the solenoid, it tells the solenoid to do its thing and send juice to the starter . When you turn the key or starter switch all the way to the start position, that wire should be hot, activating the wire on the right .

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My fuel pump died in my M50A2 when I was out on my last fire, luckily there is a lift pump on the injection pump that got me through but it makes for longer starts and makes me nervous because if that fails I'm obviously dead in the water, no pun intended So I bought a fuel pump from Seco parts...
