I wouldn't be shy about getting the sticker off, worse comes to worse and you ruin the gauge -- that's cheap enough and easy enough to replace.

I'm 6'4" and I don't find the driver's seat too tight . . . maybe swap out for newer seats and see if that helps?

One other stray thought . . . If hard doors (i.e., X doors) are important to you try and buy them on the vehicle in the auction. They have gotten pricey lately (like most HMMWV parts). The overwhelming majority of HMMWVs at auction don’t have doors since the armored Frag doors are removed...

I too would like to buy a working HMMWV for under $10K. In fact I would buy all of them.

Just repower the thing to 6.5T/4 speed and junk this crazy abortion of an engine. God knows what else is wrong in there!
