    How to lock up / secure a M35 A3 ?

1:57 is my favourite. Anyways, little late to the thread, but, I had an air cut off installed because Deuces can runaway. To reset it, you had to open one of the side engine flaps and know where to reset switch was. Easy enough, once you knew, really hard (maybe impossible to almost anyone)...

    Wheels

You're allowed to put retreads on your steer wheels. I've read the federal language and the restriction about retreads only applies to busses (a simple Google search will confirm if you doubt). However, tire places in my area won't mount retreads on the steers. If you do your own wheel...

    Wheels

24.5 tires are less common than 22.5. However, going to commercial tires allows you to go with retreads. Buying commercial tires is different than consumer. I found better deals working with dealers than going to places on the web. Aluminum wheels are weaker than steel. I believe they are...

    Wheels

Well, the wheels in my previous post are 24.5" I got them as aluminum blanks, milled and anodized them. This opened up the world of commercial tires to me.

    Muffler for M35A2

Holy thread bump, Batman! Not everyone wants to go through life deaf. Even wearing ear protection for hours gets old.

    Wheels

What's your budget? There are always options. When I ran 395's, I had a set of wheels from an M1076 trailer.

MRAP wheels not fitting up front

That's the funny thing with selling military wheels/tires. No one wants them until you finally mark them down to just get rid of them and all of a sudden more people need them.

    Canning Stock Route

Used conveyor belt might work for the base. It's cheap. There are more and different dimensions than the one I linked. This is just an example. The steel pieces don't look too difficult and I might be able to find them as scrap, at least some. Still thinking where to get the other rubber...

    Canning Stock Route

Never said I wanted to be a die-hard. Space is at a premium for me as I plan on living in my truck, 24/7. I had planned on carrying probably 2 sets of chains for snow but tracks could replace those and be used in very deep snow. Everything's a give and take. Generally, I won't be doing a lot...

    Canning Stock Route

Yeah, my thing with contrivances is getting to the dunes in the first place. I might drive thousands of miles just getting there. The idea is, what happens when you're confronted with an obstacle?

    Canning Stock Route

While interesting, that's kinda the same as just swapping in another wheel/tire combo. Even if I can make those tracks, I'm not sure if I have room to carry them. I'm gonna look around and see if there's a good way to carry them that doesn't take up a lot of room.

    Canning Stock Route

How hard could these be to make? I'm not talking for ripping about, but for slow driving ONLY when needed. Is the weight of the truck alone enough to keep the tire from spinning inside? I feel fairly confident I could reproduce this product, as pictured, and come up with a way to secure it...

    Canning Stock Route

I've seen over the tire tracks for duals before but not for a single tire, not that I've looked all that much. Btw, google "over the tire tracks", and you'll find a few different choices including rubber and metal. I'll look into these. I like to be prepared, within reason, but they may be...

    Canning Stock Route

Point taken on the tires. Sadly, I won't be in a position to fly in a whole set of wheels/tires just for one run.

You can read the Wikipedia page, for some insights. Here's another article. Lots of ads in the 2nd one. Think a properly outfitted Deuce would be ok? The 2nd article I linked mentions you cross over 900 dunes and it recommends no heavy trucks. I'm posting here because my Deuce has been...

PETLAS Has anyone tried these tires?

Some things you don't let go of.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Added front winch, HF 12k lbs. Already have a Mile Marker in the back. Also added brush guard.

What wheels are on your humvee?

Method 105 beadlock wheels, 17x8.5 & Yokohama Geolander MT G003 37x12.5R17 Went with civilian wheels/tires because of the price of stock tire sizes. Even used tires have a big shipping cost - not everyone lives near suppliers. The offset isn't perfect but I won't be carrying much load most...

    And then I had one

I could've sworn I posted this under HMMWV. Could a mod move it there?

    And then I had one

Nothing significant. I didn't need it. I told my friend he could have it, but it just came down to space/storage. There was one for sale around here on Craigslist recently for $200. He has kept the chassis and is planning on using that to create an off-road toy.
