After too long, I fired up my M813 for a maintenance jog.
As I was doing my walkaround, looking for fluids and low tires, I spied this dude walking up my driveway wearing a Vietnam era green jacket with unit patches and pins on it. He asked how long I'd had the truck and I told him. He said...
Sorry, it's not clear to me which truck you have. If you're referring to the Cummins NCH250, yes I think the absolute redline for these is 2200 rpm. I don't know exactly what happens when you overspin these engines, I only know that It's Very Bad.
A knowledgeable member here stated that the...
The other thing is, if the truck is started, the truck must be driven and spend time at normal operating temperature. No long idles without some driving.
I don't "short cycle" my trucks.
I drive mine a few times per month to keep things lubricated and batteries charged.
I live in a heavily suburban area with oblivious drivers so when I venture out, I need to be extremely vigilant. About a mile from home, I had a driver in a nearly new Jeep Grand Cherokee veer over the center...
Crap. Well the P/N nor the NSN come up in Kascar's inventory even though you provided a photo of the complete kit.
It comes up in Part Target as "Plate, plain nut" but I can't find anyone actually selling them.
Ok, I'm missing several pieces going by that picture. Thanks.
What TM did you get those part numbers from? All I could find were part numbers for the extension.
Edit: Wait...ok, the large pieces on the ends of the photos, I do have. That's what's mounted to the base of the partition.
I have the...
I checked the TM's and I searched the forum. All I can find are references to the cargo barrier "extension."
I have the 2-man cargo barrier and I'm not sure I'm installing it correctly. The bottom has L-brackets which line up with 2 large holes in the cargo area. Ok, fine so far.
It would seem...
I wired mine to the shifter to avoid unpleasant interactions with my state's ASED (safety inspectors.)
I didn't tap the shift illuminator for power though.
As usual, the search function has failed me: "Removed the word "inner" because it is too common."
I'm searching for the correct inner tube for 11.00x20 tires. Will this work...
Ah, I thought you wanted a photo of the leaking area, which isn't visible. The valve stem is the typical inner tube-type like a kid's bicycle. I'm not running MRAP or combat wheels. The schrader valve in the valve stem isn't leaking, the leak was coming from up inside, near the base of the...
Oh, I changed it already. I have multiple spares lounging about. Trouble is, they're all kind of old and dry. They look great until you air them up, then the checks start showing. Some tires just have minor checking and some have chasms.
I've been told the same thing and not to worry too much if I see some checking on the sidewalls because they have so many plies. How much truth to this is there?
I'm not running heavy loads and I generally drive it gently and in parades, but the roads still get hot around here in the summer...
