    Transmission; NOS or rebuilt?

AFAIK, TMC (Turner Manufacturing Co., UK - in partnership with Spicer) and probably others too, did not build the whole transmission. Instead, they did refurbish them, by the thousands. Including X-many of the old gasser 3052 (1:1 5th) transmissions which were converted to 3053 (0.79:1 5th O.D)...

    MEP807A parts manual

    Shouldn't be too kompliziert... ;)

Can 5-ton winch adapt to an M35A2?

Not a problem here since the transmission with its PTO would remain stock (M35A2). All he needs is flip sides of the winch gear-case and clutch housing and fabricate a pair of mounting brackets. Then find a 5-ton (front)winch drive shaft and eventually adjust its length.

Can 5-ton winch adapt to an M35A2?

Our 10K- and 20K Garwood front winches have reversible ends, which can be flipped for left or right hand input. Lots of work (to completely disassemble) but doable.

    MEP807A parts manual

How about splitting it up and post in portions, like page 1-200; 201-400; etc or select pages according to chapters ?

    Half shaft broke

The transfer case has a (lockable) differential and both axle differentials are open. So unless the TC was shifted into L or HL, all motion/traction goes to the half-shaft & wheel with less resistance to turn. In your case it's the F-L diff output - with part of the shaft - that will be spinning...

    FLU-419 Tire Opinions - 14.5R20?

Pitbull catalog says 4200# @ 60psi. So if the SEE weights 16K you should be OK. Only problem I see is how a typical L/T tire gets to seat on a MPT rim, without long-term damage to its bead sections. (the MPT bead flange is 1/4" taller than the L/T's.)

Will 335/80R20 fit on Deuce stock rims?

I see... but that only makes sense if you had to actually scrap some wheels. Problem is, most of those studs/nuts are only Ø 5/8", while the 10 holes most likely measure Ø 26mm - which is pretty std for that size bolt pattern. Thing is, the outer (flange) diameter of a typical 5/8" flange nut is...

Will 335/80R20 fit on Deuce stock rims?

Haha, thanks for that, but no, I'm just trying hard to A) not forget what I have learned from so many others here and elsewhere, and B) hopefully make life a bit easier, for the younger generations... And this site is a good place for me to practice both...:giggle:

Will 335/80R20 fit on Deuce stock rims?

If I were you I'd buy them all, at that price!;) 1) That aluminum wheel alone is more than that, if sold as scrap. BTW, those are in fact 10-on-335 centers. So, for a Deuce it will need just a 1/2" plate, bolted to the inside. I would not use those outer 18 bolts, in this case; just go with a...

Will 335/80R20 fit on Deuce stock rims?

Yes, you can... but is it safe to even drive one mile? NO! Those 335/80R20s are MPT tires, to be mounted (only!) on MPT wheels, 11" wide and having a bead flange height of 1.0". The stock M35A2 wheel's bead flange height is 1.5" - which is too tall for a MPT tire to seat correctly! Yes...

    Deuce hood fixing

No. Both reinforcement beams are (or should be) straight while the sheet-metal is slightly arched. The center beam as it comes from factory, you can barely stick your finger in between, in the center. Gap there is 5/8", more or less.

    Swap post in For sale?

Yes. Just remember to put a value or price for whatever you own and want to trade in.

    Private Messages

Dave, instead of going through them one-by-one, there is one box at the bottom left that says "select all" and It addresses all of the conversations on that one page, about 35 per page. Clicking on it and then select "leave" will delete all of the conversations at once. With one additional...

    Modern inner hub seal??

It actually does better than that - per design at least. The greater the pressure from the outer environment, the better it seals.

Looking for pictures of MRAP rims on Humvee

Not exactly an MRAP wheel but....... if I really wanted to go up to 40" rubber on a HMMWV I would choose no other than the softest, lightest version (=132J) of the 12.5R20 MPT80 Continental and mount it on a custom-made 1-piece MPT wheel, made out of a GKN 20x11" MPT wheel shell and the outer...

    Surface rust.....treat then paint

Light rust (like stains): degrease and apply 20% dil. phosphoric acid or products like Ospho and equivalents, with 3M Scotch-Brite. Heavier surface rust: do sandblasting or use angle grinder with 60 grit flap disc, then treat with Ospho.

    Transmission won’t shift into third

If it really was in, backwards then you could not have any synchro action at all in 3rd, so it was always grinding to engage?
