    Cab Latch Rebuild Kit

@Suprman has the kits. I think this is his listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/194371219358 FYI - these latches are shared between the FMTV's and the F22 Raptor fighter jet. Such a weird cross-over.

brackets for two alternators -- suggestions

You don't want to do that.... Having a belt connecting the two alternators that are each driven from the crankshaft pulley on their own belt will be a nightmare of belt length and tensioning problems. The CUCV has a similar problem with it's power steering/#2 alternator belt situation. It could...

brackets for two alternators -- suggestions

Yep - have to consider how much belt wrap you will get on the pulley. So an idler to increase wrap and power transfer is likely required with two alts.

    A0, A1, A1R and TM's

I'm the only one that I'm aware of that has done that repair. I'll PM you.

brackets for two alternators -- suggestions

CUCV uses two Delco 28si isolated ground 12v alternators. It works. There's not much space to work with so the mount will have to be carefully designed to avoid being too close to the cab, etc. I wouldn't start with modding the factory mount since that's not likely going to make efficient use...

Electrical Load Analysis would be my assumption given the context.

Does the PPD do more than reverse polarity protect ? Modern replacement for PPD ?

And this is why I run a 300A Niehoff 12/24 for my (4x) 6TAGM system. In interest of redundancy when off-grid I prefer to keep the four battery system. If I lose a battery I can reconfigure to two. Can't get 24v from a single so the 2x system has no available redundancy.

Had the fan kicking on at about 180f instead of 205 today

C7 gauges are CANBUS to the MMDC and more than once I have had a gauge not completely/correctly calibrate after engine start leading to erroneous readings. More than twice one of my voltage gauges has failed to correctly calibrate and read high till I power cycled the truck and it went back to...

Does the PPD do more than reverse polarity protect ? Modern replacement for PPD ?

Sometimes you don't want the operators or even the field techs to pop in another fuse or bypass the fuse easily. The AIH is very high current draw and a malfunction down stream from the PPD/LBCD could easily cause a fire. When that link burns through the techs will have to go into the TM and...

    M1078A1 "Pandora" Build | 2024-??? | ***Picture Heavy***

Cant read your list - image is too small. If you haven't considered it. Being the year it is and being the 3126b - based on my experience I would recommend the following as well: Engine oil pump: HEUI high pressure filter kit. (https://ifskit.com/) Bypass oil filtration. Thermostats. All...

    allison trouble shooting code questions

This is why a laptop setup with Allison DOC, CAT ET, etc is an invaluable tool for the the DIY owner of our trucks...... unless you have just piles of money laying around that you can afford towing / recovery to a professional shop when any of the computers goes on coffee break. You can't...

    M1079 Rear Stairs

No. They are specific to the M1079. The M1087 (MTV Van) is totally different.

    M1079 Rear Stairs

You can likely just slap a label on it and have Fastenal move it. They probably wouldn't even care if it wasn't on a pallet. It's light enough to carry it around easily by one person.

Call Fastenal. They ship between their stores cheap. No guaranteed delivery date is the catch.

Does the PPD do more than reverse polarity protect ? Modern replacement for PPD ?

That's a fusible link. It is designed that way on purpose to burn through if the rated amperage draw of the heater exceeds it's rating. A "fusible link" is simply a section of wire that is intentionally several wire gauges smaller to contain the failure to a specific location. It's just like the...

    LMTV Allison Stall Test issues

Yeah the Bluefire dongle seems to be a good option for basic monitoring. Note that for some strange reason they don't make it compatible with the 24v J1939 powered port on our trucks so you have to either modify your plug or add a second interface plug that's 12v so it doesn't damage their...

    LMTV Allison Stall Test issues

Well..... you can't. Not *legally* without paying for it anyway. And it's prohibitively expensive. The military has a somewhat reduced functionality version of CAT ET that doesn't require registration, etc but getting a copy typically involves offline methods due to size and potential for...

    2006 M1083A1 6x6 Start up problems.

12.6 to 12.8 is fully charged (exact voltage depends on chemistry). 12.4 is discharged. Multimeter doesn't load them so it really doesn't constitute much of a test. Also if they are still hooked together in the truck you may have batteries at different charge levels and you need a solid 25v at...

    LMTV Allison Stall Test issues

I woudn't think so - if the sensors are damaged the TCM is going to detect open/shorted circuit, or not see the RPM pulse. I can't envision a scenario where the sensor would read but at a shifted frequency resulting in inaccurate readings but not throw off the slip detection algorithm in the...
