I also have to ponder if the spotlights were ever mounted to
another conveyance. Like the M10 ammunition trailer, or a double caisson setup.
Outstanding!
Very Nice! I have seen very few M16's around this area and they are always Impressive. To Live Fire one with all four rocking is on my Bucket List.
I also like the spotlight? that was next to it in the first picture. Or is that the weapon platform?
I wish you lived closer as I would like to...
I have this discussion with my brother about fuel regulators and electric pumps. I use 5 to 7 pounds for a reference on gasoline as most carburetors require for under load fuel consumption. But to much will possibly overload needle and seat raising fuel bowl level and if sticking needle, flood...
Liability is a factor for sure on any kind of repair. Should be a simple repair for a shop that can handle a body seem panel replacement. Sounds like the top surface skin on the top windshield around. Ask around local car shows, swap meets, you will get the skinny. Take your time, then decide...
From what I see is the crank at oem has more surface area contact. The proposed belt location has more surface contact on the ac compressor. But is the diagram representative of where the oem compressor would be? Maybe not a good comparison, diagram?
There is belt tension to consider, belt...
helobravo, are you going another direction on your truck? After all that work that you have done on the Detroit to get the engine useful for your purpose you have decided?
I am a little late but I will have a couple of things that I do on any carburetor rebuild, especially cast iron.
I will use talc powder on the gaskets to keep them from sticking. Sometimes it will take a few cleaning sessions to get all bleeds clear of foreign matter. And a little rust or dirt...
So let me understand? You went and replaced parts and have the engine in running condition. And now you are asking how much can I sell engine for?
Why aren't you going to use the engine in your truck after the work you done? I would after the work you have done. Why not?
Are you going to sell...
I do not know which tire size you currently have on the 939 but is it possible to use a tire with a softer sidewall? Just wondering, if you do not plan on transporting heavy weights then maybe a little help in using the tires as a cushion may help.
Several overall components have an effect on toe in or out, negative or positive caster and negative or positive camber. Read a little on all to understand what each one does and the effects that it has on drivability.
Tie rods, ball joints, king pins, bushings, wheel bearings, all have an...
fuzzytoaster the front tires on the 817A1 are monsters. I have to wonder if the tires on your Truck are enough to float it. I would imagine that if you had to float to get somewhere you could take one of the tires off and travel a great distance.
That is one Tough Truck. The 817A1 has my vote...
It was brought to my attention that the TM calls for transmission fluid in the hydro-vac system of the HMMWV. I was not aware of that and should not have stated that PS fluid is used.
This can and will be debated for obvious reasons.
However there is a difference in that PS fluid is a higher...
Definitely worth the time to just brows and spend time to get familiar with looking threw the TM's. And if you have a printer then print out what you need or all.
I need to get a printer. Simple adjustment like a carburetor.
