Welcome and congrats on your procurement on not one but two unmolested 151's. I like the 151 also but the HMMVW is also a Great Mule!
It will take time for sure as the Military Jeep was long in the tooth at 40 years. And continues to this day as a civilian CJ. But lets give the HMMVW a chance...
Welcome, fuel problems are a domino process. Has the tank been cleaned? Have you done a carb rebuild? Carburetors that have been sitting or the fuel tank is contaminated will give you fits. The air bleeds are so small that just a little rust or dirt will close the passages.
Rebuild the carb...
m1010plowboy I will call today but I need more information that when I call I can quote what ever legislation or new Police Laws that have been enacted.
jcdostie can you post the letter so that I have more information. Some of the local MVowners can call here in the Midwest and I will have some...
Well I do not blame the chinese for what they do. The blame lies on, to the people that sell out their country for a dollar. Put our countries in peril over a dollar or yen.
The democrats are pized at the company now wanting to come back and get some massive tax break or extort the local...
Here in the States depending on the location and use some camouflage patterns are altered to the natural vegetation. The 1008A1 I own appears to have been through 3 different paint schemes. Two being CARC. Thanks for the information.
It makes my Heart Feel Good to see you save the equipment from sitting idle and givin new life Robo.
I hope that it is not to much of a challenge to find parts for your equipment?
After reading the thread I did not know that the Marines were making the Growler fit the Osprey. With the problems, why was add on duals after drop or landing not considered as a solution, or maybe so?
Was the Growler a secret or embarrassment? I think by the little exposure that I have, it had...
I owned an 79 Grand Wagoneer that had 401, Hydromatic and quad-trac with what acted like lockers but maybe just tight posi's. Green with wood panels and tan interior. Even had factory aluminum wheels, 6 lug. Paid 600$ in 90 and should of kept it and did a rebody to a 37 or 715.
Another one that...
The voting this month is going to be a tough one again for me.
I am going to narrow it down a little to, green, red, tan , or camo.
What to do!:goodjob:
Need a little more information. Is your truck a 84 CUCV or a 83 civilian 6.2? How did the truck start, how did it run before fuel filter change?
Did you replace the canister fuel filter with an inline filter? Can you post any pictures of the engine compartment? Fuel pump, what condition do you...
Perfectly normal to have different shims or bearings to get best clearances. On any equipment that will see severe angles while in operation will have several pickup points to keep oil at the pickup. Also later on baffles or directional oil pan doorways are used to keep oil going to the pump...
For years lock and chain was done for a reason on base.
I agree with rekey the truck also. It is pretty well known that one key will open, start the CUCV. New ignition key locksets and door sets are easy to get and the prices are still reasonable. In 5 to ten more years who knows.
Is it worth...
Did you see the post, thread about CUCV wiring schematic?
That will give you something to look at and hunt down your separate components.
Good Luck, hope that helps.
