Welcome to the addiction! Looks like you've found an excellent place to store your money, but withdrawing it may be problematic  J/K, looking forward to your progress photos.
I think it will work great as a static cover in camp, but I worry about how it will hold up at highway speeds with the tarp on if that is your intention.
That is a really nice venue for a rally, and it's only about 85 interstate miles east of Tim's place. Could call it the Gulf Coast SS Rally since we've had folks from TX LA MS GA AL and FL attend. Could also schedule a Sat. trip to Camp Shelby museum and base tour (if Jeff will volunteer to...
I must have missed this thread when I was on the road. Looking forward to watching the progress in person, maybe occasionally passing a wrench. Glad you're keeping it manual transmission, 'cause I love jamming gears :driver:
I use the "3M TEKK WorkTunes Hearing Protector" that blocks wind and engine noise and can be used in any truck or while mowing. Cost is around $38-49, shop around...
What did it say in the Pickup Terms of the item auction page? Some places state whether there is forklift loading assistance available or not. I always check that before I bid.
I've done like HMMWV Nut by unhitching the flatbed, block up the rear edge of the flatbed so the front jack doesn't...
Way to jump in with both feet - a 2000 mi trip! As to performance on hills, remember the box on the back adds ~8,000 lbs over the weight of a regular cargo truck.
For that truck and with a light load, my order of preference would be :
1 - M101A3
2 - M101A2
3 - M101A1
4 - M1101/M1102
If you plan on carrying the trailer with a heavy load, I would reverse #3 and #4 due to surge brakes on the M1101 and lack of brakes on the M101A1.
I pulled that big green steel box M105A2 on a 230 mi round trip last month to Goldeneagle's place to deliver a pallet of ammo cans in exchange for some repairs done on the trailer steel box door. It traveled well and level down back roads and interstate highways, but I could tell the truck...
Check the Payment Details to the right of the inspection details. Title information for the two private MVs that I watched sell is listed here, as well as the pickup deadline. If it says you get a transferable title and you do not, GP should force the seller to provide the title or refund your...
This is what I have planned for my home when I get around to it.
If you use a 50 amp RV cord and receptacles, you will have 4 wires to for 240v and ability to link the generator ground to house ground. You may also want to upgrade your generator later.
Normal 50 amp receptacle at generator...
Thanks GE, found it!
If travelling I-59, its 3.2 miles west of I-59 Exit 29 on MS 26, or
from Exit 27 take MS 53 North 1.9 mi and turn left onto MS 26 west for 1 mile to Fairgrounds on the left.
I'll be coming from Bogalusa on LA10 / MS26 so should be able to spot it.
While I enjoy cruising the countryside in my M1031 :driver:, I'd have a better chance to arrive on time if someone could post some directions to the fairgrounds.
