How would tagging @beltfed34 been any easier? I didn't think my reply was exactly what I'd consider difficult. Anyway, and to your point, evidently either Christos or Ed had sold theirs. All I know is that these things tend to bounce around owners like a biker's ol' lady, so it's kinda hard to...
We just installed the M73 dummies in the V100 turret. We have an original ammo can being sent to us to duplicate as well as original Cadillac Gage drawings for the brass chute that fits between the two guns. Progress a little at a time.
While we are making the last few parts for the dummy M73's, a friend of mine called and asked if I needed a Ferret (like there's anyone who doesn't) and so we ended up with one. Everyone knows I have been looking for a photo of the 1969 Blood Sweat and Tears V100 from the early 70's and so far...
The M73 dummy project for the Cadillac Gage V100 that served in Vietnam with the 504th MP's is just about complete. Still have to put together the charging assembly but the heavy lifting is done. Would be nice to hear from some 504th Vietnam vets that was familiar with the "Blood Sweat and...
Just finished Cerakoting the replica M73's for this restoration with Tungsten C series, so it will be a few more days until full cure, then I can assemble. Here's the backplates so you will have an idea of the color.
Been trying to make contact with a 504th veteran that had mentioned several years ago that he specifically remembered seeing the Blood Sweat and Tears V100 during his time in Vietnam and just found out yesterday that he had passed away in February of this year....One more potential chapter...
The V150's that came with factory diesels and autos (not the Red River repowers) had a different steer unit CG part number 122262
Looking for info necessary to order one to put in the modified V100. Any help appreciated.
Been making some progress on the limited run of M73 fake receivers as well as located the M73 mounting parts for the turret in NOS. Finally I was able to get find a period correct M113 A arm to complete the field installed M113 mount for the M2HB. Evidently this mod happened shortly after the...
I had been looking looking for a pair of M73 dummies or parts kits for this restoration, and with parts being difficult to find (since most went to scrap I'm told) we decided to just bite the bullet and make a very limited run of high quality, non-firing replicas. The turret on this Blood Sweat...
Here is an edited photo that shows what the nose art probably looked like sometime 1969-70 while with the 504th MP's in Vietnam. If anyone has a photo of this V100 I would really like to hear from you.
