    steering wheel bolt size...

I already own thread gauges and a mill and pretty much every other tool known to man. Problem is that I don’t have the truck yet. Picking it up in Maryland and driving it back to California the first week of October.

    steering wheel bolt size...

Old thread, I know, but does anyone know what size and thread pitch that is in the wheel. In the Dorman it's an M8.

    Aluminum wheels

Oh, I’m not taking it personally, it’s just amazing how inefficient anything that has anything to do with supply to the government is.

    Aluminum wheels

Okay, finally something happening, although it's an extremally longshot that I will have these nuts in time. Recieved the quote today $83 per nut and they are in stock, but I can't just pay for them and get them shipped to me. The red tape involved in trying to buy 4 nut is just ludicrous. Had...

    Aluminum wheels

Yes, I’ve thought about that, but that isn’t realistic in the time I have. I might need to figure stud size and thread pitch so I can find caps and drive 9 lug nuts and no CTIS.

    Aluminum wheels

Thanks, I’ll give him a call. Are they a manufacture, or parts supply company? One of the challenges is that Hutchinson has a patents in play here, so they’re the only manufacturer of these nuts.

    Aluminum wheels

Okay, this has officially turned into a royal pain in the a$$. Hutchinson won't sell to us anymore, and referred me to their distributor Triman Industries, which is a division of Blue Raven Solutions. The contact at Triman that I was given is Maurice Crudup, contact info below. I found I had to...

LMTV self cancelling turn signal adjustment

Can anyone tell me the size and thread pitch of the two threaded holes in the steering wheel for pulling it?

    Aluminum wheels

I already posted about this, but will post contact info for the guy at the distributor as well.

    Aluminum wheels

Just spoke to him and he will sell one. He's looking in to the pricing now, they literally just came in so he doesn't know how much they're in them. No luck on the CTI lug nuts yet. I'm on hold with the distributor as I type this and just getting the run a round again. So, supposedly their...

    Aluminum wheels

Thanks Keith, that was me, but I found them else ware and they have already been blasted, powder coated and tire mounted. I do need one more for my spare, but I doubt he'll break up a set of four.

LMTV self cancelling turn signal adjustment

Yes, I get that it's an army truck, but that isn't why I'm buying one. I'm buying one because they're a great platform to build an expedition vehicle on. So, since it will be doing long miles, I'm looking to do all of the ergonomics upgrades that I can. I realize most people on steel soldiers...

LMTV self cancelling turn signal adjustment

Anyone know the part number for the ring that attaches to the steering wheel to cancel the blinkers? Or where I can get my hands on one? I'm picking up a 2008 M1078A1R in Maryland the first week of October and driving it all the way back to California. I have the Dorman steering wheel and would...

    Snow chains on FMTV tires

Thanks, thinking we might go that way. Ordered the cable chains earlier this morning on Amazon, then talked to my buddy and decided we’d go this way, Cancelled the order an hour after ordering them and got a message that it was too late to cancel the order, which seems like a stretch since the...

    Snow chains on FMTV tires

These are only for emergencies when I get caught in weather and have to chain up. My pickup date for the truck is October 7th, then driving it all the way from the east coast to California, so multiple mountain passes to deal with and there can be weather in mid October.

    Snow chains on FMTV tires

Yes, I understand all of that, but no point in tearing it if it can be avoided by making a smart choice in the chains I buy.:)

    Aluminum wheels

I was talking directly with Ken. I’ll text him and ask if he can get them. Since I had relayed to problem I was having getting anything from the distributor when I asked if he had them, I’m pretty sure he would have told me if he could get them.

    Aluminum wheels

I got the shouldered lug nuts from Ken, he unfortunately doesn’t have any of the CTI lug nuts.

    Aluminum wheels

Can anyone post a photo of these wheels with MVT’s from an angle that shows where the outside face of the well is relative to the sidewall of the tire. Looking various snow chain and prefer the SCC cable chains for cost and ease of installation, but it looks like the steel hooks for the tension...
