What's involved with getting a turbo 6.5 and turning it into a NA engine? I'm not wanting to hunt conversion parts and modify my M1045A2; trying to keep it simple.
It's just a piece of regular 6" C channel like your drawing. I didn't have a tire carrier to measure from either; I looked at photos and just measured what I had and made it work.
The 9" right triangle will give you the angle. I basically just centered the tire on the tailgate and it came out fine. There's plenty of room on the screw jack, even if you're on a hill.
But that 4 inches can be done with 1 or 2 fingers. I literally have to push down slightly to engage the hood latches. It takes more effort to close than open.
