Grind the head off center punch the center of the rivet .Then drill a 5/16 hole through most of the rivet then use a 1/4 punch to drive out the rivet the drilled hole and smaller punch will let the steel push in ward . Good luck I realy hate rivets .
When I rebuilt the brakes on my M211 they would hang or release slower then I though they should . I ajusted them again and they where fine . With 12 wheel cylinders the more the the shoes have to traval to stop the truck it takes time for that much more fluid to return to the master...
Running the number of trucks they had for the years they had them finding brake parts should not be a problem if maintenance was done as it should be . It's hard to belive that the factory brakes where disconected and a home made system added on trucks that give rides to the public .
I have used the clear silicone on oil pans that where warped . It's thinner and easy to spread a thin coat on each side of the gasket all the way a round .

I bought a set of left hand drill bits from Harbor Freight that has worked well for me through the years when removing broken bolts . If you have to shorten the bit to get to the bolt it's better then cutting a expensive bit .
The first transfer case I had in my m211 did not shift in to 6 wheel drive when put in reverse like it should .When I tryed to ajust it I found it needed more travel then the shifting linkage would allow . I changed transfer cases . If I ever need to use that older transfer case I would mount a...
You might check the height of the fan some engines had the fan lower or higher then others .I would take a good look at the oil pan on both engines . Cummins engines have had a lot of diffrent oil pans through the years made all over the world . Good luck with your build .
In the 1980's I drove three trucks with DT 466 one had a automatic one had 13 speed roadranger and the last one had a 5x4 I would think it may take some searching to find what you need but it should be out there. Last year when I was looking at engines I seen a lot of DT 466 in the salvage...
