I still use it when I can, I have a roll of .032 around this place somewhere I think.
It's meant to hold the bolt/screw in place, but when it fails something else usually has an epic fail with it. Why do you need pliers?? I used them once in my entire career and couldn't stand them. I'd rather...
Is this the tire cupping many of y'all have talked about caused by worn tie-rod ends? This tire has been in the same place on the truck since I bought it (about 3k miles) the other side did it some too, but had been changed due to tire fixing.
I know simp has broken a few (4 I think), but how many of y'all had the rear (or front) spring leafs break? After reading simp's OTR 30k and 60k updates I'm seriously thinking about this possible issue for myself since I'll be looking at 30-40k# full time, not including any trailer weight. If...
That's part of the reason I bought it lol big game gets to be a little heavy when you have to lift it shoulder high.
I can't remember what they are made for sure Jack, just what I'm planning on doing if I keep the bed on the truck for long.
Edit: AZiator, what tags you trying to get this next...
I would really love to add more space between the cab and bed, like maybe a foot or so, but the bed is already centered on the rear tandem. Since where the bed is now is also where I plan to mount the 20' ISO container it makes me a little nervous. I know I will have quite a bit of weight on the...
Hadn't thought of those, I was thinking of what I already had here with me since I live 2hrs away from HF. I'm sure that would work great though, and still be easily removable.
Thanks Moose, took the truck for a ride tonight to move stuff and already had a pin fall out on it. I bought a case of cotter pins from HF when I bought the crane so it looks like I'll have to use them instead of the included clips. If I can get my chainsaw to stay running I'd like to test it...
If you were a lot closer I'd come give ya a hand but I ain't got the money to drive that far right now. There's a couple people down there in the Phoenix area that might be able to help out though.
I have been thinking of making my own bows since I can bend wood, but I'd want mine to be about 72" I think though. I doubt that a tarp would cover the sides of the bed completely, but I'd only be going for a "bikini-top" anyways.
I didn't think so either, thanks for saying something, I got busy with something else and forgot. 2003 was the LMTV style. Don't quote me as I'm not 100% sure, but I think 92/93/94 was the last year they made the 5 ton style that I have (not including late rebuilds as I'm not sure when the DOD...
Installed the bed crane from HF that I had purchased a few days ago. I'm not happy with where the holes ended up so I'll most likely go back later when I have enough bolts that are long enough. I missed the bed support by an inch or so so I can't use the angle iron included for that one bolt...
So you have bits of rear frame laying around then? Do you guys have also happen to have a rolling chassis, or at least a chassis with the rear tandem still attached?
Has anyone else ever extended the 934 chassis to the 927 length in the rear? I'm curious where I'd get said extensions, or if I would have to make them myself. CSM Davis and I had discussed this a tad bit when I first got the 927 bed from him, but the inability to tow anything is getting...
Found the pics, looks real nice SD! Right now I'd be happy with frame extensions and a winch, then I'll worry about replacing the front bumper. But the idea of mounting and hinging from the front shackle points is great if I never do get around to replacing the bumper.
I wonder how the rears will fair with 10k# on the rear full time time as an RV then. Makes me wonder about the longevity. Do you have any prior knowledge about that bogey before it was installed? I.E., miles and age? I really don't like the idea of having to change the design of the suspension...
