Try adding some Floetrol to your Behr before spraying; it will thin it slightly but retard the drying time to allow for better spray behavior. The retarded drying time also allows the paint to lay down better for a smoother finish coat.
Also, be sure to strain your paint & additives before...
Good job fellas! Glad that you all made it to where you needed to be safe & sound, especially considering that the Cajon Pass was involved....that's a loooong way down at a steep grade until you hit the first slightly uphill portion.
FASTNOVA: PM sent.
I recently got to ride in Wes' 923 with 16-speed transmission...all I can say is WOW. This is the transmission that this truck series should have come with from the factory, it really harnesses the torque of the NHC250 very well and is a real eye-opener. With Wes running 395s instead of...
Sorry to hear of your engine problems, I hope that it's a simple fix! Those engines are pretty rugged.
If anyone ever needs assistance with Cummins engine faults in the Las Vegas area, I recommend Las Vegas Kenworth....they get their genuine Cummins parts from Rocky Mountain Cummins just down...
And that's the kind of guy Wes is, he'd give another member the shirt off of his back without having to ask for it.
Definitely the guy I'd want by my side in a crisis/critical situation.

I lost the front output gear in my 931A2 case, trying to pull my D4-5T onto a set of wood blocks so I could get underneath it to do some work. Moving forward in low range when I felt it slip & rear tandems began to hop in soft dirt. Case is fine but a big chunk of gear is lying in bottom of...
I bought this very set last year during Black Friday online specials from Acme Tools, I use it like crazy. I've also bought additional batteries from Acme, as well as other cordless Milwaukee tools that use same battery....I highly recommend them (free shipping) for those who don't have access...
What James said, and maybe a crow's foot wrench to tighten a new one back on.
ETA: When helping a club member earlier in year rebuild his MF IP on his 5-ton tractor, we had to remove the P/S assembly and a few other things to get to all the hoses & connections. It figures that the least...
When it gets cold, those tractor tires won't have the "gription" on steel decking like they might when temperatures are warmer out....
And let's consider what ramps would be suitable for loading a 4500-lb tractor into the bed of the 923...they'd have to be extraordinarily long to reduce the...
If you've got a clean title from another state, then it should be able to be registered as a normal passenger vehicle (if under 26K-lbs) and your registration fees are based on weight. If the Ely DMV office is telling you that it can only be registered as an OHV, then they don't know a HMMWV...
And above 14,001-lbs to avoid annual smog checking, if registered to an address in Las Vegas valley or Reno metro areas. That is for standard passenger vehicle registration. Now that Deuces & 5-tons cannot be registered as Classics, registration fees are based on weight...several club members...
You have a LOOOOONG way to go before you can out-stupid me.... ;)
It happens, relax & enjoy your time with your wonderful family. [thumbzup]
Keep the pics & stories coming!
Thanks for sharing, and best of luck in your travels! You are creating memories for your children that will last them a lifetime, and hopefully they will want to recreate those memories with their children someday.
As for the crooks, if you had no way of knowing what they were up to, at least...
Well now you're set up to extend that cab for more room, or even make it a crew cab! :)
Great work Wes, looking fantastic so far! Keep at it, it will be done before you know it! [thumbzup]
Since you've mentioned engine oil at least twice, make sure that the multi-grade 15-40W is out of the engine; use only straight-grade SAE40 (or 30W in cold weather) LOW-ASH, DETERGENT-TYPE oil in your 2-stroke Detroit. Otherwise you'll score your liners, among other things. Shell Rotella makes...
