Congratulations William!!
I can tell you all that I've seen & been in this truck, and it's even nicer in person than what the photos show. William has done a great job with this truck (and his other vehicles as well).
Good job!

You sure seem to have more than your fair share of crap & hassle thrown at you...and you've always been the nicest guy I know, you literally would hand not only your shirt off your back to ANYONE in need, but anything else that you thought the person in need could use.
That really sucks, but...
Same exact memory of these, USMC 1984-92. Rustystud might even remember these!
We'd carry our rolled-up camo net on the back of our tanks (M60A1); when stopped to laager up, we'd roll them off the back, spread the net out, stake a few edges/corners, and we'd use comm wire as 2 long leads at...
Or 12R22.5 tubeless radials on one-piece steel wheels...I'm sure you can get all new wheels & tires for less than the $40K you are worried about. You can air down tubeless tires without having to worry about spinning the tube & damaging it.
Or super single 22.5 tubeless radials on aluminum...
There is also a fine brass screen inside the elbow of the air hose that attaches to the shutter stat; if your air dryer ever went through a period of deferred maintenance (like the majority of these trucks while awaiting auction), then most likely that elbow screen will be plugged. Either clean...
This is correct; I used this post to help me find clutch alignment tools listed here:

Current clutch alignment tools info can be found here:

On the same Deuce we swapped the clutch & PP on, we also had to change out the rear main seal. On this engine, it did NOT have the separate rear main housing; it had the seal swbradley1 mentioned earlier, where you just hook it out and replace it. As you can see from the pic, there is no rear...
98G and I recently changed out a clutch on a Deuce (multifuel, D-turbo). I ordered 2 different clutch alignment tools; one arrived just a few days later, but the other didn't arrive until the day after finishing the job!
#1 is a Pioneer Tool TAT-5200; I ordered it from FindItParts.com. Total...
You'll notice that your air system will behave much better after the air dryer service. Be sure to follow the recommended service interval for it as well. Some members have swapped the stock air dryer for the upgraded MRAP style with good results; "SEARCH" is your friend.
Your biggest challenge will be with the transmission. I doubt the VW tranny will do much good with the weight of the HMMWV. Trying to mate a heavier trans with the VW motor and get all the electronics to properly function with all the different assemblies involved will be formidable...
