I took a closer look at your photo above, and I can see some streaking on your wheel adapter...that is usually indicative of a failed axle outer gasket, which is an easy fix (remove 8 bolts/lock nuts with 3/4" socket, pull axle shaft out, remove old paper gasket & install new gasket... available...
Have you given it the Smell-Check to confirm? It can be only one of two things....
If gear oil, it is at least driveable once you resolve the brake issue. The outer axle seal has failed, allowing gear oil to fill the hub & wash out the bearings, and now the inner seal is gone, giving that...
WOW, very well-done! The hard work & attention to detail is well worth it, she's gorgeous!! [thumbzup] [thumbzup]
I really like the non-skid coating in the bed.

Very nice truck!! [thumbzup] [thumbzup]

It was good meeting you in person at our meeting last weekend; I appreciate your service & your enthusiasm for building a custom 5-ton. Fellow member Grendel has a great ongoing thread about singling out the rear suspension and swapping in an air-ride setup (that we discussed).
I second all of...
The limitation(s) I see with the 8.3 is the exhaust manifold with the T4 outlet size...I've searched but haven't been able to find a suitable exhaust manifold with a T6 outlet, that would give us a wider choice of better turbos to use. It seems that all the HX50 & 55 turbos I see have T6...
We're having our monthly meeting on Saturday, Sept 17 at 2pm, held at the Marine Corps League building at Spring Mtn/Arville (by American Shooters) if you'd like to drop by...we have quite a few big trucks in Vegas & are kept quite busy.
