Agreed most being sold have issues. the military and Nat guard units are still using these trucks it will be a year or 2 before we start seeing mass listings
Welcome try to get the mich XL tire off the front of the truck try to move it to the back I've seen a lot of things go wrong with them ( the blow out kind) if they ever been flat.
2 bolts inside the cab hold it onto the fire wall.. and also 1 bolt inside the engine compartment holds the wires onto the fuse block remove the bolts and pop it lose.. real ez.
Cucvrus is right with the belts Both my M1028A1 and MY M 1009 have that setup. I will post pictures .. or a video .. I have a video of my M1028A1 running and you can see the driver side alt clearly but I don't want you guys to hear my voice... :(
What I would like to know is how that crap got past his primary and secondary fuel filters.? Has that crap been building up past his filters and the 911 broke it loose, and got his injector stick or something?
I think your problem might be the turn signal or hazard diodes on the fuse box wrapped in tape, if your not running military radios I would cut the diode out. I had kind of the same prob with my M1028 the left turn signal would stay lit when I turned it on. After I checked everything I found out...
Ya it's most likely the starter, My M1009 had the same issue of the starter going slow after 2 new 6TL's got installed in it. Had the starter rebuilt and fixed it right up. I would have it tested.
Have the battery's load tested just because a battery reads 12 volts doesn't mean it will have the cranking amps. Just FYI having the starter crank slow will damage the starter.
For the M923A2's you need a six step boarding ladder like 60 inches tall. a 5 step will work but I like the 6 steps better this is what mine looks like.
