Nice looking truck, I can understand you wanting the 4 speed but the good old TH400 has the advantage of no electronics to fail, once they do you are stuck with just 2nd gear if you are lucky. I am loading my M1097A1 with commo right now, it's only a two seat so I have limited space on the cab...
I spent 2 weeks at the NTC in CA at a maint. shop and all I did was change flex plates, they came to us with the cross over pipe already removed, we just un bolted the transmission mount, bell housing and slid it back and jammed a 3/8 drive socket to keep it spaced back just enough to get a...
40 times lock to lock holding 5 seconds at each lock. You may also have a bleeder at the fan valve, that is the highest point in the system. I ended up replacing the PS pump with the same issue.
I have the hardware kit however the only sheet inside is the inventory of the kit and it tells you to source the instruction sheet. I don't see any pre drilled holes for the support brackets that mount on the rear of the B pillar.

The fill hose was the last piece I installed after replacing the tank. The secret is to use a heat gun and soften the hose first, then spray some silicone or use some soap on the inside of the hose then slide it onto the tank fill, same for the fill on the outside, heat and lube.
I have the cooling system apart for a water pump replacement and I noticed that the fan hub, the part that has the quick disconnect fitting, does not rotate freely, it turns about half a turn and then feels like it has hit a spring detent then will rotate again to another or the same detent, is...
I ordered a new pump from Midwest Military Equipment, removed the old pump, installed the new one on the bracket not paying much attention to an exact match. I installed the pump on the truck(6.5/V-belt)and I noticed the center soft line nipple was hitting on the cylinder head allowing no...
Update:, So I drained the fluid and dropped the pan, I figured a filter and fluid change might help, I did not expect or want to see a filter and pan covered in metal shaving and a few minor chunks of metal. The filter was literally clogged with metal, the magnets had so much metal on them they...
Update: After the bleeding process and I thought I needed(and ordered)a new pump, I ran it the next day and now it works normal, it must have had a stubborn air pocket that finally came out. I noticed I have a bleed nipple at the fan valve, I will try that as well if I ever need to bleed the...
