Nice chart...
You can also calculate air flow requirements for 4 stroke engines as follows:
RPM X CID / 3456 = normally aspirated air flow at 100% volumetric efficiency.
With forced induction, multiply the value above by (boost PSI+14.7)/14.7 to get max airflow under boost.
Engines can often...
I can say after adding a turbo, the gear drops are still pretty bad.
The RPM drops off significantly & the turbo loses boost since it drops out of it's preferred RPM range.
The turbo is a big improvement, but it does not make up for the lack of a nicely spaced transmission.
Mechanically, the timing of the injection stroke is adjusted as you show above, but when the fuel flow actually starts is based on how much fuel in in the injector, which is determined by the amount of fuel pressure filling it.
I was referring to the duration of the injector pulse....
The end...
I took your advice & called Warren. He was looking into a few things for my setup.
Hopefully I can get something safe but better performing without killing my budget.
I was using the reasoning that the harder you push the fuel pressure to get more flow, you also advance your timing, which is...
Great info .... thanks.
I was considering going to a larger injector to get some more fuel, while also allowing me to reduce the peak fuel pressure I'm running.
Engine number is 10200712. They are non-top stop injectors.
Dated in 1987
I was contemplating installing larger ones from a NTC-350 since I added a turbo, but was not sure of the size difference.
This engine is # 10559780 dated 6-76. Fuel rate says 192 mm3/stroke on this tag.
Started the Jake install today.

It went pretty well....

It tells you how to...
On oval pipe, I always use a bead, but I have had good luck with regular t-bolt clamps on just smooth pipes.
You can carefully flare the end by using a small crescent wrench tweaking the last 1/4" of pipe out slightly. It does not take much & you don't want to see a lump in the hose... At the...
It was a rather simple install.
I've built a lot of custom turbo/supercharger tubing for cars... this was easy compared to fitting 3.5" pressure tubing & a 4" intake in a Camaro.
Be sure to get aluminized steel or aluminum tubing so it doesn't rust on the inside.
Yes, but unfortunately it is almost impossible to see with the turbo & exhaust in place.
The turbo outlet points straight down, then a 90 deg silicone coupler facing the rear,
a 3.5" tube to a 90 deg coupler between cab & belle housing,
to a 45 deg coupler on top of belle housing, which I...
Is 200 psi a realistic safe limit on the line pressure?
I spoke with Pittsburgh Power about getting the injectors flowed.... I would be fine with spending money on injectors if I could drop pressure for more reliability.
I also have low rail pressure at idle & cruise, the pressure only climbs high when I'm at full throttle.... but it only sees about 150 psi at 15-1600 instead of the full 200 psi.
I'm ok with the top end power, but I would like to get more in the mid range.
At 1500-1600, I'm seeing under 150 psi pressure & about 7# boost with EGT's in the 800's.
Here is where it needs more to pull through & spool up, otherwise you try to hold that speed with it floored or downshift &...
Had another learning experience today.
The throttle seemed sluggish & also slow to return to idle.
I could not see how a dual fuel line could cause this.
I had suspected the fuel pressure gauge could have air in the line which allows compression/expansion when the fuel pressure changes.
I...
