When I put my new wheels together I used many different chemicals.
I put anti-sieze on the threads, tire lube on the bead & wheel barrels (made pushing the wheels in the tires so much easier), grease on the 2 halves where they mate together (to prevent rust), & a coat of bead sealer on the face...
Just ran into an issue where a previous owner put silicone sealer between the rim halves.
I had the misfortune of trying to get them apart this weekend.
After pulling & prying with no luck, I removed all the studs to allow less interference.
Still they were not coming apart.
I then tried to...
It is now fine to cross radials during rotation. It is recommended on everything but directional tread.
The claim about not changing direction originated in the late 70's with steel belted radials, causing belt breakage & was quickly updated.
On most vehicles, take the rears straight forward &...
I just painted my frame with one. Here is the good & the bad.
The Good...
Easy to use.
Covers a lot of area quickly.
Puts out a high volume of paint.
The Bad...
No pattern adjustment, so it is hard to direct to small areas. Had to touch up all the tight spaces with an air touch up gun. Used...
Awesome, I totally missed that post somehow.
I was reacting to people saying it would fly off etc...
Saw all the commotion & thought what a good idea... it just needs an adjustment bolt or to be spring loaded.
Now I want one....
Rifleman, The adjustable pulley is a great idea.... what I think some are referring to is that your tensioner setup has adjustment which can pivot off a single point, relying on the tension of a single bolt to keep adjustment.
This is critical on the tension side. If you added an adjustable...
Have you checked the tires for interference?
I was planning on using pressure treated 4x4's.
Based on the size/weight of the bed, I only want to lift it once...
Will your 16.00 tires clear the bed at full articulation?
Getting ready to do a bed swap on my M818 & wondered if a 4x4 would be thick enough to prevent any tire interference with the bed.
I only want to buy wood once... any info you can provide will be appreciated.
With classic plates you are not allowed to haul cargo, just as with an antique.
This is directly off the DMV website...
"USE OF ANTIQUE, CLASSIC AND VINTAGE REGISTRATION PLATES
The use of Antique, Classic and Vintage registration plates is governed by Section 1340 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle...
Atleast on the M809 series, you can skip the air brake endorsement.
When my truck was previously titled, it was reduced to 26,000, so the previous title showed that.
When it came back as an antique it only showed the unladen weight.
As far as antique plates, I saw that some other states allow...
Typically the night time restriction is not enforced unless you have a car with poor lighting.
I have been driving home from car shows about a hundred times at night & never got hassled.
As for the antique plates, for an $85 1 time fee, it beats getting inspections twice a year & paying big $$...
I asked the same question a few months ago & got no response.
I am planning to compare the speedo against a GPS & try to buy a converter box to make it right.
Please provide information on the following:
Hopefully I got it correct.... still learning this stuff

I always had problem with slime causing a vibration.
Added it to my quad & had to remove the tires to get it back out... about shook the bars out of my hands.
Wanted it for flat prevention, but could not ride it at any speed afterwards.
Also used it in an emergency in my pickup tire once & it...
If you want an easy/cheap dome light, there is an LED undercounter light available at Walmart etc. that has a self adhesive backing.
It is rather bright, & you just push to turn on/off.
Here are a few.
The small ones are about $7 for a 3 pack & the larger ones about $15 for a 3 pack.

Hilarious.... first thing I thought when I saw the extra headlights. Thought of their station wagon.
Like the work on the bed, but would prefer the wheels covered with a dually bed & F600 front end..
I was told the rear spring pack is larger on the M818 but never confirmed. Mine rides terrible as well.
The tires are likely the only suspension cushioning when empty, so the larger tires will considerably help ride.
I could even feel a difference by just changing tire pressure.
My M818 has a...
