assuming this job is done with out having to jack up and support the truck, is there any danger of the rear flipping while you are working on the top torque rod??
my buddies in florida modified a gooseneck to be pulled behind a gmc 4500 top kick pickup that was close to the same bed height of a deuce. the only bad part about moddin the trailer is you cant hook it to another truck unless its as high. kinda good way to keep your buddies from borrowing it though
deuces in the mud arent ot good. i have been in alot of muddy situations in mine. the last time i sank mine really good, i was in deep clay. the front end hit and started to plow and that was it. clay was up to the frame and the back axle was still on dry ground. it took an M813 to pull me out...
a quick little fix to get you home if you were on the road and blew out one of those torque rod bushings is to bolt a piece of angle iron on to the bolts that clamp the torque rod plate to the rear. this will keep your rod on the wrecked bushing for the ride home. i know people who actually...
if you ask me, i think the best way to sum up the deuce for anything is it is a novelty unless you have alot of work to do offroad or unless your on the frontlines of a battle field conflict. i love a deuce, i love how simple they are, i love driving mine when i dont have to but i think if i had...
RE: Re: slightly sticking brakes
i prolly dont drain the tanks as often as i should, maybe once every couple months. i live in souther new jersey, its pretty cold here but nothing drastic. i would imagine that ice could form and then stay even when we get a few days of warmer weather. i have...
i will try the vent trick tomorrow first because its simple. the last person who touched the MC cap and air line wasnt myself so there is a good possibility somthing may have been boogered when my friend checked the brake fluid for me. i may have access to a good airpak, i know i can get one...
hmmm, well, maybe this might have somthing to do also with my problem if no air wont immobilize the truck. before the clutch blew up i remember taking off from my house one day with a glad hand open and the valve on. it had no air when i got to the intersection near my house. the brakes were...
when my clutch went bad my brakes were fine. the truck sat for about 7 months before i decided i wanted to fix it. well, its been fixed for a while now and i notice that the brakes will stick when applied. they dont stick to the point that that truck is completely immobilized, as if it had no...
i used to tow my mud truck around with my deuce. it was good for where i originally used to tow it to but times changed and that spot we used to play at got closed down. i used to get there by going 30 miles through nothing but forestry roads. so a slow going ride was like nothing for the deuce...
im used to that, i blow up everything i own. my buddy has a big truck shop and keeps buyin trucks from GL for junk. if i blow one up i can get and enging cheap or free and geti it installed for nothing more than my time at his shop doing it :D
you would be surprised what you can do if you put to much air in the tires and selectros up front. my truck running 9.00 20s will keep up with an 813 on 14.00-20s no problem with clean filters. it sounds kinda funny at those high rpms though
thanks guys. next on the holder project list is a cell phone holder to mount on the center windsheild pillar. i want it easily visible so i can see it light up whe it goes off sine we all know you deffinetly wont hear it
hahaha ya, i got lots of entertaining stories like that . the sad part about 4 am febuary swimming was i got naked so i would have dry clothes to put on after my shear pin repair. some idiot kicked my clothes into the water. paparazzi was all over snappin pics LOL it aint eazy bein the wizard hahaha
im not really sure. they were there when i got the truck. the previous owner didnt do it, he really didnt do anything to the truck except drive it. before him it came from joe youngs. i think it was some hack job try at a loudspeaker installation or somthing by the grunts. there is 4 holes that...
