If you want to get stuff out of the tank and lines, then yes. You can also run biocide if its been sitting for a while.
If you want to purge the pump, injectors, etc and clean them out, then you disconnect the supply line going to the IP/PT pump, and your mix of seafoam, power service, ATF/OIL...
I've tried 3 different 3/8 compression fittings... All have a different thread pitch than the factory connectors... same with the caps... I have no clue how that's possible, but it is. I'm just gonna end up cutting the lines and using the DOT 3/8 compression union.. I was hoping to be able to...
Double check your grounding at the tank. It's almost always a ground issue since the fuel level circuit uses the tank/straps/chassis as return ground path.
You can pull the valve and clean it. It's messy, but doable.
One thing you might want to do, provided you have spare fuel filter, is dump...
You're driving around a 40K+ lbs truck... and you don't even know where the fuel selector lever is?
Pray you don't get into an accident, as the other party's attorney is gonna have a field day...
This isn't a passenger car you just hop into and drive, you know.

So.. .Re: above... Apparently not all 3/8 compression unions are the same... The threads weren't matching up at all, and the nut supplied with the union was loose as #(%& on the factory fitting... So, who needs tolerances? So, didn't get the air line mod done. I was able to bend the front axle...
80* here... which is pretty warm for these parts considering it was 35* just a couple nights ago.
Got a bunch of parts laid out...
Replacing air drain valves with 1/4 turn ball valves.
Replacing fuel pickup tube.
Adding a Schrader valve to the fuel cap so I can pressurize/self bleed...
Big Mike's has copper tube for $50. I haven't inspected the one on my 923A2 but I figured it was cheap insurance, since I'll be redoing all the fuel lines anyway.
Low power engine.
Yellow engine = lots of green to fix.
HUGE transmission losses = 45 MPH max speed (~50 if you push it).
CTIS = unreliable.
Benefits?
Auto (could be a con)
Super singles
Dual circuit brakes (also available in AF M35A2 on '87 contract)
Front end looks cooler?
Not worth the...
M35A2
M1031
M923A2
Getting rid of all but M923A2.
PNW Steel Soldiers on FB is where a lot of the PNW guys hang out.. I think we're up to 800 members or so.
As far as the ladder goes....
I don't know your physical fitness level, but when I lived in my M934, I used the factory ladder, and had some 550 cord wrapped in a loop on the top step, so at night, I could just lift it up/in.
If you want to DIY steps and keep them light but rugged, Interwest...
Switch was indeed stuck. I shot it with a ton of contact cleaner and actuated it a bit. Seems to be working properly now. Not ready to take it out on the open road but 10' forward and reverse seems to have no issues.
--My filters are starting to show up.. Good lord... I bought a Baldwin...
The FB1311 base allows for dual inline filters.

I already bought them, and the filters, and plan on running AN10 line/fittings.
The only caveat is that filtration ability is inversely proportional to flow, so putting 2 filters in parallel instead...
Replace any wear items now, BEFORE you go out in the field.
This includes all fluids, belts, etc. Between oil, trans, transfer case, differentials, belts, etc figure about 1K$
Tie down points aren't the same as tow points. They have limitations.
Double check all bumper/frame bolt attachment...
