I have posted in the past about the odd ball air fittings, here is clip from an older post. I think the ferrules you are looking for maybe the Metric AN fittings. The air fittings in this system are bit of nightmare as they are mix of metric AN fittings and Metric straight threads. I picked...

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

FYI, my unit also came with the jackhammer and the drill (no chainsaw :( ) , the jack hammer is nitrogen charged in order to get the "bounce" I have not used mine but have heard that they can loose that charge. There is a special charging tool and gauge kit that needs to be used to recharge it...

Help me diagnose my fuel issue

Most of the normal issues have been covered but here are my thoughts. There are several issues that can bite you in the butt upstream of the fuel pump. Just in case , you didnt know there are three "pumps" in play, a mechanical fuel pump located behind the primer pump, the primer pump and the...

Loader piping fittings JIC with tapered threads?

Thanks but those are not the ones. I saw those. The ones I needed have external cone seat (male) on the horizontal thread and am O ring with backing nut on the vertical thread. The elbow screws into the cylinder until the elbow is int he right place then the backing nut behind the O ring is...

Looks like the definition of a "Can of Worms" SEE style. Thanks for posting!

Using my SEE for real work

Latching used to be major project for me. With practice its far less so. I wish I could give folks a big tip but it just seems to require practice. I think there is some correlation with the amount that the backhoe is used prior to doing a latch attempt but even when I just do a quick...

Congrats on making the plunge. I find that going through the walkaround inspection and greasing procedure in the operators manual a very valuable way of getting to know the Mog. All the grease fittings are there but some are not easy to find especially the one on top of the transmission that has...

Using my SEE for real work

Looks like a project. Too bad you didnt have a hydraulic concrete saw to plug into the hydraulics. There is a chainsaw version and a wheel version.

The heater on mine was not that powerful but once the engine is running, there is plenty of heat radiating from the footbox and engine. SEEs also have electrically heated windshields.

Loader piping fittings JIC with tapered threads?

I did not contact Schmidt. I did find out that the odd thread is JIC thread that should be straight thread with the same pitch but is distinctly tapered on the male cast fittings on the SEE. The net result was I bought a standard fitting with a straight female JIC thread and the existing tapered...

This boom cylinder broken mount is listed in the collection of service tips as a known problem from improper operation. Its stored in the Misc tech manuals section. I cant do a direct link right now but if you search the site for this it should come up...

I cant give you any specific info on that particular truck but its worth determining if ts been "recapped" which is generally a total rebuild. There were several programs to rebuild SEEs as political make work programs. There is usually a plaque behind the passenger seat with the rebuild date...

    FLU / SEE

Couch Off Road Engineering has/had a HMMH listed. Jay the owner knows the value and rarity of it but may need cash with Covid. Somewhere in the very long SEE thread is some "history" regarding this particular unit. Someone bought it from Jay subject to getting a title and Jay was unable to...

SEEs use a lot of air assist systems and they do not have air dryers. They do have an alcohol bottle for injecting alcohol to keep the air system from freezing up. I recently restarted my project to retrofit an air dryer on the air system which is preferable to alcohol if you are dealing with...

Once I figure out how to get an air dryer installed that will get it clean and dry but cant do much for the slow side.

Given the diameter of the hose, its not high volume but handy for topping up the tires especially the spare which I suspect does not get much attention unless its needed.

One thing that popped up in my mind yesterday is that the SEE has a specialized air coupling to hook up an air hose on the unloader. Some unloaders have this fitting and some do not. It does not impact operation of the unloader. There is the same fitting on the other side of the truck. The...

The tubing fittings in the area between the tanks are very "tender" and its important to use tubing wrenches and make sure you put a wrench on the fittings to keep any torque off the fittings. I would suggest that you avoid breaking these connections if at all possible as some are custom and...

You are in luck, these are readily available from multiple sources. EI used to have a rebuild kit or you can buy new ones on Ebay and possibly Amazon. One of the two brand valves reportedly has a internal screen on the inlet. The term for the outlet is the "spit valve" its sort of the low...
