My fleet in firewood mode. I generally run out of motivation long before I run out of load capacity for the 1300. The 1300 has a 2 ton capacity. I unload and directly split before I throw it in the bucket of the SEE
Freightliner was and I think still is owned by Daimler that also owns Mercedes Benz. Freightliner never built a SEE, its just a rebadged Mercedes Unimog 406 chassis minus a rear bed with a reinforced frame and Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) which is the big roll bar behind the cap. The...
I would suggest making sure the air tanks are empty of any solids and then clean out the drain valve that sits between the tanks and is set back a bit. It usually collects a bit of junk from the corroded air line.
FYI, While moving some crushed gravel around and in the past I have discovered that at least with my SEE, the bucket can bite off more than the hydraulics can lift. Thus the volume of the bucket is not the limiting capacity of my SEE. There have been past posts regarding the mismatch of the...
Yes they came with a key but it appears as though any thing inserted in the slot will work. Mine also came with chain welded to the floor with a padlock for locking the steering wheel from turning. Expedition imports has replacement keyss.
With the backhoe deployed its between the frame rails behind the backhoe seat and ahead of the cab, This one sits lwo and has fuel can mount near it. It just bolts in place to the frame rails. I was looking at yanking it out and putting the air drye r and the purge tank in its place to given hem...
I have not seen any recent posts on rat damaged harnesses of late but did notice EI now has one listed for around $700. The picture shows a harness with multiple colors which is major improvement over the all black Mercedes versions.
I was running my SEE yesterday and when I went to shut down I noticed a few lights were on despite the master disconnect key being removed. I searched and found a post the FLU had bought a switch but wasnt looking forward to swapping it. In the the short term I disconnected the battery cable. I...
Its rite of passage for a SEE. Initially it feels totally foreign and definitely is not intuitive. Obviously you do not want to have the SEE facing uphill and facing it downhill helps. Of course if you just cant get it, you can rotate the boom and use the outrigger to push it in place. Once you...
Just part of the potential dues for buying a 25 year old vehicle that has sat for long periods of time. The first SEE i looked at was a state vehicle that had been transferred from the Fed, the throttle linkage was bound up and parts were disconnected. The seller got it started and like a good...
Throttle linkage issues are pretty much to be expected. Its a very complex system and unless you understand what is going on its very easy to do more harm than good. There also are some parts that wear out and if misadjusted parts can bend. Remove the engine cover and find where the throttle...
If the entire wall was coming out, slow dynamite would have been the ticket. Not so good with lots of rebar but pretty impressive. Of course you would not have ended up with all those nice slabs.
The tee you are heating up and attaching to on the air side end is the one that snapped on me despite some care (I did not heat it ). That tee is custom as the connections are different on one of the runs. I could not find a replacement through several suppliers and had to make up something that...
