Ah, it´s 30mm on the NP218, too; interesting.
I had to work on my NP242 on Friday, and measured 30mm there. But I wasn´t sure wether the NP218 might have a different plug.
So it´s 30mm on both transfers. Now that´s a pretty common socket size overhere.
I traced one of the parts, and put a scale on the drawing, so you can check the size. Try to use a programm for printing that allows the option to print the pdf without any size adjustment.
The part is made from 1.25 mm aluminium, or 1/20" aluminum, whatever you prefer..... :)
The other side...
I see. As I suspected, you need these corner parts:
Finding those parts for sale is possible, but they only rarely show up for a decent price. I don´t think there is an NSN in the manuals for these.
The parts are actually pretty easy to replicate, however. I can take measurements tomorrow.
Hi Tony,
I own an M997 ambulance, and will gladly see if I can find pics for you (although my ambulance is just undergoing a full body-off restoration).
However, I don´t really understand which area you´re talking about. By "screen" do you mean the windscreen ? Are you talking about the...
If your truck is an A2, you already have a 12 V relay. It switches 12 V power for the four-speed transmission when you switch main power to "run".
The relay is hidden behind the battery box . Check the A2 electrical schematics which plugs are switched 12 V
Wow, you seem to have quite decent weather down there in France.... Up here in Germany, we have loads of snow and 15 degrees below zero at the moment. I tried to work on my Humvee yesterday, but after half an hour, it was just too cold.
Thanks everybody so far. Very interesting; I wasn´t aware that the A2s were continued parallel to the turbo vehicles.
I´ve asked my buddy to get pictures and more info.
A buddy of mine got an offer for a Humvee with a 6.5 NA diesel, 4 -speed tranny, and the whole thing is supposed to have been build in 2010.
I thought with the start of M1114 production around 1996, all newer vehicles have been turbos ?
Or did AMG continue to build Humvees with NA engines...
RWH is right (as always (y) ); I just checked my M1045A2 that had high back seats from the factory; and there are no backing plates. My M998 that I refitted the seats by MWO has those plates. Weird....
Without the reinforcement plate, all that holds your seat in the event of a crash are those tiny #10 screws that fix the transverse seat rails to the body. And with the body being comparatively soft aluminium, any strong force on the seat will probably pull those screws right throught the alu...
Code 37 reads: "Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) brake switch stuck ON"
You want to get the troubleshooting manual, that is a great help with the 4L80:
4L80 Troubleshooting Manual
These brackets are in many of the USMC M1045A2s there were auctioned off in the last years. Mine got one, too.
In my vehicle, a white double cable ran down from the bracket along the RH B-pillar to the batteries, so that was probably voltage being supplied to whatever was at that bracket.
I...
Those instructions in the TM are just for "non-solid-state" GPCs. It says so somewhere pretty well hidden in the TM. "Non-solid-state" GPCs are the really old ones. They used a series of relays to create the switching logic.
They seem to have been replaced by now in most vehicles by solid-state...
Congratulations, Foxtrot, to your new toy !
Make sure to check your Humvee thoroughly. It´s a great vehicle, but there are some points which can become very dangerous. Especially the wheel spindles in the hubs have been known to get loose while underway, and that´s potentially deadly for you...
Make sure that you have this troubleshooting guide:
4L80 Troubleshooting
Lots to read, but it will answer all your questions about the 4L80. For example, you put the tranny into troubleshooting mode by bridging two contacts on the diagnosis port on the TCM computer. The guide will tell you...
You put in the rivnuts from above. No problems fitting the tool. Just enlarge the holes to the corresponding rivnut diameter, and go ahead rivetting.
Removing the old bolts was the hard part....
I´ve brazed alu parts on other projects with rods like these. They might work for closing holes, but`m pretty sure that you wil need to bring the sheet metal to a horizontal position. Otherwise, the liquid solder will simply run away.
