Is there a new FL law about tags

I first went to the local tag/tax office. They headed me in the right direction but with not the best correct information, of which went off to Tallahassee. Tallahassee then disputed the info I mailed in and the confussion continued.

Is there a new FL law about tags

Tallahassee does not know how to deal with these trucks. My experience took over three months, countless phone calls, money orders and then finally after the right person said "Oh, this has taken way too long". Just hang in there...

    Magnetic fuel filter

When we clean tanks we typically use a 30 micron filter. For fuel polishing we filter down to as fine as 2 microns. For a point of reference, 30 micron is about half the size of a human hair.

    Used Motor Oil as fuel?

Most older diesels will burn used oil but it is best to keep it below 5% mixed. New diesels are very very subject to costly repairs due to the computized fuel systems and sensors.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Moved the truck from the warehouse to the house. Remover the mushroom from the air cleaner, going to figure a way to quick disconnect that instead of wrenching. Started sanding the cab for first coat, dropped the flat spare tire for the first time (found it full of water). Removed the jerry can...

    Tire change with bed hoist/crane

I recently had a crane fab'd and mounted it in side my M109A for loading 'stuff'. Crane is a typical vertical member with a horizontal section and a 1/2 ton chain fall. Swings through the doors and clears the step in to the box. I like the chain fall over the hydraulic, it gives me more control.

Rapidly clogging fuel filters... Sand in fuel?

The red goop we find in fuel tanks is linked to one of the many additive that are added to the fuel. What most folks don't know "once the fuel additive is open, it is usually expired in 12 months". Most additive for diesel are for the killing of the bugs, and like I noted in an earlier post, the...

Rapidly clogging fuel filters... Sand in fuel?

I know it sounds odd, so I went back to Sept 10th 2012 in my files and found the first notice we received : To investigate the problem in an objective manner, eight stakeholders in the industry, including PEI, funded a research project through the Clean Diesel Fuel Alliance (CDFA)...

    Deuce inner tube removal question

The rim that gave way and killed the mechanic had the ring that sets under the bead. We experienced a few close calls and always had a pucker factor to deal with. Most of the times we would place the tire ring down under a semi an inflate them there. Cycling the air pressure and applying...

Rapidly clogging fuel filters... Sand in fuel?

We have been seeing an aggressive corrosion in ULSD tanks since 2007. They have pulled samples from fuel tanks from New York to California and the results have it being linked to ethanol. Several laboratories have come to the same conclusion.

    Deuce inner tube removal question

Be very careful with split rims, the first job I had was to replace the guy before me. He was putting the tire back on the inside of a trailer axle when the rim separated, killing him.

Any suggested improvements on my WMO filter setup before I use it?

The three oils will not have the same specific gravity and will separate. The order you will find: water on the bottom, gasoline, jp blends, kerosene then diesel fuel on top. Transmission fluid and used oil will vary but should find them in the upper third of the column.

Algae crud or what. Best way to clean it up. M923a2

There is a similar post in the General Section regarding "Red Sludge" in the fuel tanks. I am reluctant to double post, it may be worth your while to look it up.

Any suggested improvements on my WMO filter setup before I use it?

What I have learned after 35 years of designing piping systems is "Any filtration is good filtration". Your system will separate particulates but I question water, but that will be determined on the filtration media. What I would recommend is some form of either a filter or strainer on the pump...
